That's £700.00 far to much, honestly, most members can feed a family on less than £300.00 per month, have a look at the forum I've posted above.distressedpleasehelp wrote: »Hi, there are 4 of us, 2 adults and two teenagers
I agree with insider, I mean no offence, it's only when one starts to look from outside the box does it become clear how easy it is to cut back.Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -

Do you have any equitable interest in the property?
P.S. have you opened a bottle of wine yet?:D
There are things that can be done to sort this out.0 -

Hope you don't mind me chipping in but £1000 p/m on food, clothes and sundries, even for a family of 4, is far, far too high. Even half that amount would still seem a bit extravagant. Where do you buy your clothes? Harrods? :-)
If you were able to, say, get this down to £400, you would be in a much better position, as you would have £600 more per month for your creditors. With this amount available, your creditors would be likely to accept reduced payments through a Debt Management Plan.
Please forgive my honesty but, based on the info you have given, and the level of your debts, it would appear that you have been significantly overspending for a long time. I think it will help if you reflect on where your money goes.
Your situation isn't too bad but it will need a lifestyle change. If you have been overspending on non-essential items then it shouldn't be too hard for you to see where you can make cutbacks.
