FSCS/Icesave claim nightmare!!

I think the problem may be with your account/computer. No one else seems to have had any trouble.
Not sure how his own computer can generate:
"If you do not see any options below then you are currently unable to initiate your FSCS claim. Once you have received your email notification please log back into your account and initiate your FSCS claim."
Jm, is that the message you get even though you have received your second email? Doesnt bode well if thats whats happening. LOL.
Let us know when you get it sorted.
No second email for me at all yet....0 -

We should start to see some REAL action soon.

"Customers are advised to keep viewing their account, and, when notification appears that they can log on, they should be free to transfer their money."
Is it just me, or is this utter nonsense? How the hell can you get the notification appearing unless you have already "logged on" to view your account in the first place? When I was at Computer College 20 years ago, I was taught that the phrase "logon to your computer" meant "enter your Userid and your (secret) password". The quote above is actually self-contradictory!!!??? It would have made more sense to say "when notification appears that they can proceed with their claim" and may have been more helpful. Call me old fashioned if you like! (and a self-confessed pedant!!! )0 -
It is addressed to people who don't receive their emails due to spam filters. presumably the 'log on' part refers to the subsystem that handles the payments.0

When you have received the second email (i.e. you are allowed to get your money) when you first log in to the IceSave site you are presented with a screen of explanation before you get to see the account summary screen.
If you go straight to the normal account suumary screen the Initiate Claim process will not work.
Earlier in the thread you said that you had opened an account with an incorrect name? Could the second email be referring to that? Since the emails are totally impersonal you can't tell which is which. My wife and I both have accounts and although the email addresses are different they both arrive in the same inbox. I had to look at the message headers to find out who the email was for (and I still tried both accounts to see if I could get my money as well - I couldnt:( )0 -
Talk about contradicting themselves! :rolleyes:Although all customers can view their Icesave accounts, the FSCS is asking customers not to log in to their account until they have a second email specifically inviting them to do so.Customers are advised to keep viewing their account, and, when notification appears that they can log on, they should be free to transfer their money.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

And I wonder which is the best approach!
Second option obviously.0 -
From the placement of the quotes in the article, it seems like the second quote is intended for those who have had their first email eaten by spam filters.0
