I think you can safely stop that program as you no longer have NIS installed and see what happens then.BR 4/10/07

According to this site:
http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/iamapp/
iamapp.exe is part of Norton Internet Security.
You don't need (and shouldn't be running) Norton if you have AVG and Zone Alarm. Follow the instructions here to remove it:

Thanks Wok Boy seems to be running OK. I really appreciate your help.
Just one thing... I dont know whether its connected but in the last couple of days since the probs started I cannot log into my web-based hotmail account or my ebay account.
I must confess that I did tweak a couple of internet settings (cant recall which) as part of my 'repair work'
Sorry to be a pain but can you help, Thanks again0 -

Thanks all the same!

Is it just eBay and Hotmail, or any secure site (https://), e.g. online banking?0

Hiya,
Please go here:
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html
and download the program HijackThis.
Install it to say C:\ but don't put it on your desktop.
Run it and click "Do system scan and save a log file".
Copy and paste the stuff it generates into the next post, this way I can see what is running on your computer, and what shouldn't be.0 -
