Computer Novice seeks Computer Brain...!
I have spent the best part of 8 hours reading through other posts and trying to fix my comp.
Basically its running painfully slow. By that I mean its slow to generally navigate round, not a slow internet connection.
I run AVG and zone alarm and over the past day I have installed and ran checks on ewido, trojanhunter, microsoft anti spyware & adaware (Have I over-done it?!?!)
They have all picked up and subsequently cleaned up but still no change.
I am still getting pop-ups from, Messenger service saying I have critical errors and for me to visit winfix32 etc, etc...
The CPU usage is 99% weighted to RegFilter.exe?!?!
Currently at my wits end I plead for help...

For starters ignore those pop up messages from windows messenger, they are just trying to entice you to fix stuff that isn't necessarily broken.
What operating system are you running?
Edit: You will want to remove windows messenger from your computer completely. Follow the instructions on this website:

Read my edited post for instructions on how to remove windows messenger completely.
You can never do too many antivirus anti spyware scans, a lot of people will use more than one program to search for spyware.
Edit: Are you using this software?

Hi Wok Boy,
Step one, (Messenger) Done and seems fine (Great, Thanks)
Step Two, Followed the intructions you posted and sucessfilly removed Norton which must of been conflicting with AVG - Thanks for your help
BUT....!
99% CPU usage is now being consumed by IAMAPP.exe
Can you help? Much appreciated if you can.0 -
