Personally I use google toolbar daily as my favourites are saved to it and I can sign in on any computer

Also, none of that lot is really going to create any more space (Certainly not gigabytes)

Perhaps the OP should start looking at files theyve saved? Music and videos in particular and think about saving them to disc to free up hard drive space?
No, but the OP has mentioned that their computer is slow. Getting rid of some of the rubbish should help with that.

I would update and run Malwarebytes again and get shot of the above.

the other thing the OP needs to do is, once they've uninstalled all that stuff they say they have, they then need to actually delete the folders containing these items from their (usually) Program Files folder...just using add/remove programs in control panel tends to just uninstall a lot of stuff without actually deleting the files themselves.....could end up freeing up a fair few GBs doing this...

Hi. I've a similar prob with space but crapcleaner came up with loads of stuff - lots of which had warnings asking me to view it before deleting ! I also don't know what to delete and if I delete it one by one I'l be years getting rid of it.
SO ............ any advise on a (fairly ) quick fix?

I can try to do all of the above but am still concerned I'm going where no one has gone before and will end up with an even more crap slow pc.
Kindly advise please to a thicko.

DO NOT USE THE REGISTRY CLEANER ON CCLEANER. If it's files it's listed, you can delete the lot.

Not quite sure why you say this, it's not deleteing files - just registry entries.

CCleaner's registry cleaner is probably one of the safer ones out there. It's never given me any problems, either.

If you want a very thorough registry cleaner, use Regseeker. Again this has personally caused me no problems, but usually the amount of errors it finds on the first run can be alarming - I've personally seen it find just over 2000 errors.

Personally, I think that a nice, clean re-install is the way to go. That way we can eliminate software as being the problem.
As a bonus, they will have a nice light system with which to begin and to add only the necessary programs.

Conor has horror stories to tell about most programs, apart from the ones that he recommends of course!

I was thinking the same thing when making my first post in here. But, with all due respect to the OP, I don't think they would be able to do this. Usually laptops come with reinstallation CDs, but many users don't bother formatting before installing... .:p

Truth be known, they don't know how to use the software properly, and blames the software for their incompetency.

I tend to agree, loads have slagged off AVG 8 and switched to an alternative because they could not be bothered to read the manual and learn about the totally new and enhanced product!
