Doesn't it just? I saved a whopping £17.50 yesterday because I'm fed up with having to fork out £25.60 a day for my travel to work, and that's excluding the parking so instead I drove 15 minutes to the nearest station with an oyster card reader and viola... only £7.00 travel and £6.00 parking!Really feel like I'm making some ground... it still doesn't take much to knock me down at the moment due to the Pay Day Loans and Reserve Charges taking all my money... and Mr BailiffsBut I'm proud to tell my Mom that I'm really trying this time... and not just my normal trying this feels real
When I reveiled all to my mom, she was dissapointed to say the least but she can see how hard I'm working to get my debt down and we chat about new ideas I can use to save some more money - you see, mom was once in the same position as I am at the moment and she is now doing well and is now debt free :T Clever mommy!0 -

Well done on the travel costs by the way.. bet it feels great to have that extra money towards your debts... I thought my £47 a month pass was expensive enough :eek:Debt Free since 2012Current Savings £1,400Current Mortgage £143,398.270 -
Couldn't help noticing you call your mother Mom like I do... Are you South African by any chance?0

So in the end I started avoiding her.. it got a bit better this year but still that was mainly because I lied about my debt... yes yes it's going down mom!! Now I'm phoning her every other day to tell her and my dad about the new thing I've done..
Hmmmm I was doing this as well. My mom was getting really upset as we did have a very close relationship until I got into debt and then I stopped calling her or avoiding seeing her because she just knows me that well she'd have picked up straight away that there was something wrong with me or that I was lying!
We now talk all the time - it really bugs my partner- about how she did things when she was heavily in debt and it's such a good relationship now I don't think I'll ever hide something like this from her again!

Possibly, although it's nice to see it written like that and it wasn't written by me!0 -

I'm planning on paying off my 4 smaller debts before the end of Jan (hmmm not quite sure how though) and I've said when I do I'll wrap myself in a bow and stand in Trafalgar Square with a billboard saying "Well on my way to being debt free" - I'll invite you via webcam! LOL:D
