You can do it!
I have £5.00 to last me til friday!! Not good and as this is my week 1 of being a DFW kinda ineresting. More challenging than daunting though - looked through my entire freezer yesterday - cant remember the last time I saw the bottom of each drawer. It was amazing what odds I had in there (chicken breasts, fish pieces and a couple of pies!) - should be enough for the week.
Best of luck - You can do it!!!!start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -
I hope I don't come across as patronising or bossy, that wasn't my intention!
Not at all - I need all the support and motivation I can get!!
I'll have to have a look about lunches - it's annoying as we don't have kitchen facilities at work or even a microwave so everything I buy needs to be ready to eat - or able to with boiling water at least - but I'm sure I'll find some ideas on there!!
As for nights in - I've arranged a film night on Thursday Night - AND didn't offer to cook... another of my money spending activities I'm always having people round but I feel the need to feed them and it always ends up costing me as I like to make an effort. But a cup of tea and maybe some popcorn will do from now on!! I'm determined to stick to this and it's great to know people are reading so I can be kept in check haha!! :TDebt Free since 2012Current Savings £1,400Current Mortgage £143,398.270 -

Good Luck with the £5!! It's my first week of properly budgeting - thought my second week of DFW, with the help on this site I've already started to think differently about everything I buy... planning what I buy so there's no waste! Feels good to be in that frame of mind even if I haven't seen the effects yet i will soon :beer:Debt Free since 2012Current Savings £1,400Current Mortgage £143,398.270 -

I'm so tempted to put more money down... normally I would of done and just thought I'll have to earn the money back which never happened and always resulted in another Pay Day Loan!!
Got £500 in my bank for the month
£134 to C Tax
£150 Pay Day Loan
£150 Berlin
£191 Bills
£30 Daily spending = £655 which means going into my reserve by £155, but I'll try and get the amount down so that I can get rid of that next month!! :TDebt Free since 2012Current Savings £1,400Current Mortgage £143,398.270 -

Normally make a few veg to go with it but it is just lovely on it's own.
Yum sounds good - I still have left over Bacon as well - Will try and make it last another 2 dinners and try this recipe on Friday Night :drool:Debt Free since 2012Current Savings £1,400Current Mortgage £143,398.270 -

What about getting a thermos flask? You can get the smaller ones for around £5 I think so whatever you put in there will be kept warm until lunch ( providing whatever you put in is put in hot obviously! lol )
Also do you know about freecycle? I know alot of people on here use it to both give away things they don't need and get things they need. I haven't used it myself but it might be something to look into. I'm sure there'll be plenty of people on here with advice about it if you need it.GROCERY CHALLENGE!!October £150/£158.61

I think I definitely need to invest in a Thermos Flask - I'd love to have HM Soup for lunch each day rather then having to fork out for it!! I still have 3/4 of a pumpkin in the fridge and some rosemary that I could put together in a nice soup as wellDebt Free since 2012Current Savings £1,400Current Mortgage £143,398.270

Well I'm online so thought I'd give a bit of an update... no more money spent today
Have had a bath and a book night and ate some left overs! This whole forum is making me think so differently about everything I do! Instead of just thinking oh well I deserve the treat I've realised that in order to get this debt down every penny is going to count!! Just by doing my spend for the month in an earlier post I saw that I actually didn't have enough money for the month so if I was going to get through then I'd need to play it hard!!
Tmw night I'm meeting the OH at his Dad's music club.. normally I'd have a few glasses of wine spend about £6 but I'm going to stick with water for the night!! Also means dinner will more then likely be courtesy of his Mom means saving the Bacon for another meal next week!! Found out I get a free lunch at work on Thursday so that's going to help me with my budget a bit more!
Really feel like I'm making some ground... it still doesn't take much to knock me down at the moment due to the Pay Day Loans and Reserve Charges taking all my money... and Mr BailiffsBut I'm proud to tell my Mom that I'm really trying this time... and not just my normal trying this feels real
