Would I be your new best friend if I could find the flower stamp you mention in your blog ? ;)

Have been umming and aahing about whether to post this as its a gift for someone and I've not given it to them yet. Given that she's not a mker of cards, the chances of her reading this forum are pretty slim and I think my need to get opinions is greater than that possibility.

It's my first shadow box attempt and the plan is that she can use it to store bits and bobs from her wedding last year. I've put in my placecards and an invite to give her the idea and will ask her to choose her stuff and return it to me and I'll pop them in.

    It's for a birthday present

The picture at the backup is a close up of wedding flowers and engagement ring.

I've really struggled with it because I bought it thinking it was 12 inches then realised when I got it home it was 16 inches.

This is a gorgeous present I must admit I have never heard of Shadow Boxes before, but what a lovely idea I'm sure your friend will be thrilled with it.

Hi - I cant believe I didnt think of looking on this forum (already post on "Knit your Square") so am a newbie on this forum.
I have been card making for a few years and love it (unfortunately at times it does not like my purse!!!) I realised a few weeks ago that I had far too much stuff and I need to a) most importantly raise some money and b) clear some stuff that I am either never going to use or have not used - soooooooooo...........

I dont know whether I am allowed to ask this but I have so much to sell and am finding it hard to find a place to sell the items (ebay is great but for smaller items by the time you have paid fees you dont end up with much money) - if there is anyone who lives in the South Northants area and would like to come and buy anything please "PM" me -I had all the items out yesterday and it took up all of my "large" kitchen and table aaaggghhhh. Nothing is much more than £2.50 (largest items I have are large Fiskars Shapeboss, XCut Impress - these are obviously a little more expensive and are still in boxes - used only a couple of times) - decoupage sheets, Red Hot Bed sheets, rubber stamps, papers, punches, ribbon etc - many items I have not even used and if i have its once or twice.

Just from having a quick look at previous posts I see many of you know the usual places Madaboutcards, Artymiss, Papermania and I think you seem to have the same problem I do - too many lovely things not enough money :rotfl::rotfl:and it can run away with you (well it does me anyway!)

I look forward to hearing from any of you (and if I was not supposed to ask this question I am sorry and consider my wrists slapped and I wont do it again!)
    kind regards f1widow xx

mookybargirl - yes we are hoping to have a car boot on Sunday (weather permitting) but in past experience people do want a real bargain and as you know this equipment can be costly and although I dont want the earth for the things I dont want to give it away - still I am going to be firm with myself if they dont take the price I give I can always bring it home - I remember years ago my addiction was cross stitch and some of the kits I had were very expensive - was only asking £2-£3 per kit or 50p a magazine but still I received "oh I dont do cross stitch so only wanted to pay...." or "its for my ........ and I dont know whether they will like it":rotfl::rotfl:- still its all the fun of doing car boots I suppose
Plus I have enough for two stalls :rotfl::eek::eek::rotfl:

    You could bag them up into individual bags and tailor towards different people, stick a "Crafts starter kit" on them. This might help get more interest. Hope this makes sense;
Like a bag aimed at early teens. Plenty of glitter and pink, some cards, a stamp, ribbons.
Small kids, lots of primary colours, a few big shapes and letters, maybe an animal theme. Stick a lolly pop in it!
It will draw attention instead of just a big table full of "stuff". Try to theme the bags to as many different ages and types as possible.

Stunning card flourgirl - left a comment on your blog.

I'd like to give the stitched cards a go and have previously bookmarked some christmas tree templates, that I think you must have linked to a while ago. Can I ask where you get you embroidery thread from and what you use - I had a look in a little old fashioned wool shop near home the other day, and they only sold something called Jester SI 100% Cotton, they had a fair few colours, but I'm guessing this isn't what is needed to make stunning card's like yours.

    Thanks
2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family.
It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,000
