Rusty - Not stupid questions! I'm still learning but I use double sided sticky tape to stick my backing paper down - it's devilish stuff - you have to be careful with it - I want to get an applicator but daren't 'til I've used up the big roll I've already got. IYSWIM (MSE)
Would a thick needle start the hole for your brad? (I've only used brads once so I'd be glad to hear how its done too!) Is that why the 'legless' ones are popular?
Sorry - no idea why cards should bend unless you have used 'wet' glue? I'm sure someone much more experienced will be along soon to help.
Flourgirl - just remembered from last night you are going to York soon - I love going there - hope you enjoy! Has you husband been to The Real Aeroplane Company Museum at Breighton? My OH used to fly a Bucker Junghman from there and they have some very interesting old planes - might be worth an hour or two of your time? OH used to drive for 2 hour to get there to fly 'til he learned some sense!0 -
have just posted my water challenge card on my blog - I know its rubbish but I just had literally no ideas for this one
Rubbish?I don't think so, it's fab, a perfect card to put a smile on the face of a poorly person. It's great and very well thought out for the water challenge, I could only think of the sea

I am in the throws of making a card ... (not my strong point) but think I have figured out where I might be going wrong ...
I was using foam pads before for most things which obviously was no good for what I was using them for.
Sooooo
What do you use to stick your paper to the card? Also what do you use to make a hole for brads? even if to just start it off?
Also do your cards bend after you have made them? mine is just pulling itself up, they alwayd do and I end up leaving them in a book or under a book til they are flat again!!!
I use double sided tape tooThere's huge variance in price, ebay is a good place to look for tape bargains.
To make holes for brads I cut a tiny slit with a craft knife or use a pokey tool. If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
Im back
it didnt go too well firstly they didnt find out whats causing all teh infections and secondly I woke up with bruised ribs...I have no idea what they do to you when your under a general to wake up with bruised ribs but at least Im home
I will catch up in the next few days but just wanted to let you all know I was out
xxIf you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel0 -
Saveapenny - glad you escaped their clutches - bruised ribs a good excuse to sit quietly & cuddle Harry! I suppose if they can't find anything to explain infections in a negative sort of way it's good 'cos it can't be anything that requres a major op? IYSWIM? Doesn't stop the misery of the infections though does it? I found that cider or sherry used to set me off (NOT that I ever drank much of either):rotfl:0

Hi,
don't know if this is of interest to anybody but sizzix (www.sizzix.co.uk) have selected alphabets for only 15.90 on their weekly promotion - 4.95 postage but still a good saving if you are looking for these. I have to confess that I've been tempted as I've been wanting some to go with the big shot my OH bought me for my birthday and at that price its cheaper than the ones I've been watching on ebay. I haven't ordered from the website before so can't vouch for their delivery times etc.
Hoping to do some crafting with my DD whilst watching craft day on QVC tomorrow and can then put some of the ideas from this thread into practise. Might even get round to posting a picture - if they're not too bad!
Thanks for all the inspiration

Your card is lovely. I think it was really good idea. I used promarkers to color in image.Yearly Grocery Budget - £100.77/ £3500. January Treats Budget - £11.80 / £100.0 -
Gemma - I second what hamish said - your card is lovely - a really original take on the water theme - wish I'd thought of it!0
