Hello everyone I need some advice please re wedding invites. I am toying with the idea of making my own invites after seeing the costs:eek: of invites.
I am a beginner so need something easy, would like it to look simple but stylish. I thought about getting a pack of plain cards and maybeputting these hearts and these Wedding Day words in lilac on the front. How do you think that would look? TOO simple iykwim. What would be the best way to stick them to the cards. Can you just print the invite wording onto the blanks or is it best to print it onto vellum, whats the best way to stick this to the card?
Or does anyone have any other ideas. It's going to be a lot of work think we need about 50 invites. I did see some nice wee invites in Card Factory 10 for £1.49 which I am tempted by because of the costs but it would be nice to have something personal.
    Any help much appreciated. Vi
    Booo!!!

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who took part in my card challenge over the last 2 weeks, the different cards and techniques used has been amazing and hopefully we've all given each other lots of new ideas to try ;)

Anyway, wanted to say thank you for letting me set the challenge and thank you to everyone for taking part and getting involved commenting on other people's cards. It's been lots of fun and I for one have bookmarked so many sites for things to try in the future :D

Rainmac - I used my whispers pens (the pastel pack), you can still see a little bit of my brush strokes but its not too noticeable.
Violetta - the hearts and wording look fab. You tend to find that wedding invites tend to be quite simple with hardly any fuss on the front. If you wanted to tart it up a bit you could tie a ribbon around the spine - that looks quite effective. As your embellishments are quite fiddly you'd probably be better using something like pva glue - it dries clear, and maybe applying it with a cocktail stick to the fiddly bits. You're probably better off printing the invite wording onto some plain paper and then sticking it on with double sided tape, vellum can be a pain to stick down as often the adhesive that you've used shows through. Hope this helps - good luck!!!!

Thanks for settimg it rainmac is been an excellent challenge
    Whos setting th enext one?

    Violetta...welcome
I usualy just print the Invitaion wording directly on the card the wording inside I print on either good quality parchment paper or white/cream paper to suit the card
Best way to stick the inserts in is to use a bit of double sided tape ( for paper) on the left side of the inside of the card, place your insert on the right side, not to close to the crease then close the card
For velum ...you would either have to buy special velum tape or glue dots or have the tape show through but sticking it would be the same
Others might have different ways but thats my way of doing the inserts
You can find some good templates online for making the inserts with example of wording styles. Just let me know if you need them
If you look anything like your passport photo....Your too ill to travel

Thank you Rainmac for taking your time to set the challenge I actually forgot to post mine and Molly's cards on here!! They were posted by Rainmac on the Thrifty thread. I made pyramid cards and Molly made pig shaped cards (they were very cute!!). So who's setting the next challenge??

I have to make a mothers day card and an 80th bday card by the weekend!!

Polly is really busy this week so I said I would set the challenge if that's okay???? I was thinking of doing a tearing challenge. I love tearing paper to use on my scrapbook pages, so I thought it would be a good idea to try and use it on our cards. You can tear anything you want - patterned paper, the card blank itself - anything as long as your card has something which has been torn on it.
