Oooooh I love posh hotels!!! *drifts into hotel dreamland*

I have found these craft shows to be usually very expensive, but some great bargains to be found if you dig deep :p

Morning all - can't believe it's been 12 days since I was here; I've just had 400 posts to read through! I've been suffering withdrawal symptoms from cardmaking, but have been feeling lousy so when I haven't been at uni I've been in bed.

There's too much for me to comment individually so just a big thanks to everyone who's posted cards, it's great to see what everyone else is doing. A particular well done to everyone who's entered the challenge - the cards have all been amazing. Thanks to rainmac for setting such a great challenge. :T

I'm so jealous of everyone who made it to the NEC, it's only about 10 minutes from here by train but I couldn't go :( Things are looking up though; my mother's day present from DD arrived in the post this morning - a pink Quickutz squeeze :D :j
I picked up some wallpaper samples yesterday and have just used one of them to have a play. Methinks the diy shop will become a frequent haunt ;)
I was wondering - could I put double-sided tape on the back of the paper before cutting the letters out? Or would I end up with 'gunk' on the Quickutz?

Hopefully I'll have a chance to do some crafting this weekend; I have something I want to try for the challenge but can't think of what occasion to make it for.
some people grin and bear it, others smile and do it :)

Sunrise - there were a few stalls that had a selection of items for a quid, there were some great bargains on paper packs. You'll have a fab time, the great thing was that they'res obviously no postage charges which saves you a few quid!
Mellika - stop lurking and start posting!!!
Jailhousebabe - welcome back, hope you are feeling better now!

    hi
    thought I'd introduce myself
I started making cards about 2 years ago as something to keep me amused as my children were slowly becoming young adults and I wasn't needed 24/7 anymore
anyway hubby got involved and we were making more cards than we could ever need just for family and friends birthdays so we decided to start selling them
now it has become a 'little ' business and we're on target to make a little profit this year ( when I say little I do mean little but we're covering our costs and building up a great client base )
I haven't posted on here as I thought it was just for set challenges etc
but now I've found it I'd love to join in with your making cards thread
heres some I've just made for a customer for easter

    Welcome sunrise!

What lovely Easter cards well done you and your hubby do you make seperate cards or do them together?? I craft with my daughter age 10 sometimes and she has a really good eye for design and colours but not sure Hubby and I could do it!!

You are really organised booking for the NEC in November! I really enjoyed the day and headed for the bargain baskets that many of the stalls had plus some had special 'show' offers. I felt I got lots of bargains!

Furrypig was great at spotting the bargains - she found loads of bargain baskets!!! I think she had super x-ray vision that honed in on the offers.

we make separate cards but help eachother out with ideas etc
he absolutely loves it and can spend hours in our craft room , crafting has taken over our life lol
I didn't even know hobbycraft existed until I started making cards
hubby is fantastic at female cards which is a bit worrying lol
the only thing I insist on is separate desks , he is sooooooooooo untidy so we have his and hers double sided tape, glue , scissors etc as I like to know where mine are at all times ha ha
he is the face to face salesman and is always bringing orders home from work and I'm the internet side of things, promoting our website, selling on e.bay , to online customers etc
it works well and gives us something in common now our children are all grown up
he's up there now making some big A4 cards that he's got orders for
we had one of his friends round this morning who's getting married and was going to make all their own invitations but has now decided that she isn't going to have time so she's going to bring everything round and is going to pay us to put them together
I'm going to go and make a card for my friends dog ( its his birthday lol ) and put some bookmarks together for an order
we've just been to a supplier to start looking into making wedding invitations
see what I mean about it taking over our life lol

Melissa you would have laughed at me at the end as I found a bargain basket that had the lid on and choccy said they were maybe saving it for tomorrow but I took the lid off and got 2 things out of it and was charged 75p each!!!
