And finally, my second paper dolls card - I've got a bit braver with these - adding more detail to faces etc but they're still a bit plain.

I am NEVER going to attempt to use tissuepaper again - it nearly finished me off. The original idea with this card was that it was to have some blue glove embellishments on it (similar to the red ones below). The tissue paper was supposd to be the background but it was a pig to stick down. In the end it looked such a mess that I had to make the frame to cover up the edges. The there wasn't enough room for the embellishment!

I can't throw things away so I kept plodding on adding the silver snowflakes to cover up the other imperfections. then the frame looked too plain so I started with the words round the edge. I hate those outline stickers - so fiddly - especially the explanation point and I kpt on loosing 'a'a as they flew off when I tried to prise them off the sheet!

So finally, it was done and I opened the card to write my message. The inside was covered with dirty smudgy marks (my fault - it was that damn tissue paper and glue!) So I chopped it in half and stuck the front on another card

    Tissue paper 0 - Me 1. I'm quitting whilst I'm ahead!
You sound so much like me! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Good on you for sticking with it, I reckon it worked out really well in the end ;)

saveapenny - that's a fantastic challenge and right up my street, but unfortunately I've got one heck of a busy week coming up so know that I won't be able to join in icon9.gif

    OK this weeks challenge.

    Here goes

Make a card out of anything that you find around the house, It can be any theme you like but must not be your usualy craft supplies

Items you can use from your craft box are...card stock for the card itself but not for anything else, double sided tape or glue and a pen and thats it

Example of stuff to use that you would find in and around the house is

Tin foil, backing parchment, bottle tops, tissues, string, newspaper and magazines etc

If you put a greeting on the card it cannot be a peel off

I will be without a computer from Thursday night till probably Saturday morning ( might be Friday night I get back online)
We are having new floors laid in the dinning room and mean old hubby refuses to work around my PC

I am really looking forward to seeign all the creative juices flowing...lol

    Wow!
Do you know I was thinking about the challenges today and thought that if I was to think of one I would suggest a recycled one! How wierd is that!!

Obviously it is perfectly in keeping with mse as you can spend lots of pennies on cardmaking (or is that only me!!). I do save odds and ends that I think might be 'useful' for card making so I will have to try very hard this week to try and do a card as it's such a brilliant idea!!

    Just wanted to say that
www.croptilyoudrop.co.uk has 20% off all their products including the clearance section so a few bargains to be had!!

Also the decision has been made that the online store is closing, just when I've found them and I've even been following the blogs that link from the site!

  • Polly - hello, its so good to have you back.
Furrypig - I've noticed recently that a lot of online crafty shops are closing, I think its because there's so much competition.
Dawnteabag - fantastic cards, I love the xmas mittens - sooo cute. I have never even attempted to use tissue paper, so you're braver than me. I hope you're feeling better now.
Saveapenny - great idea for a challenge.
