  • Savvy - Thanks for the help on posting pics. The embossed card was done on pollys cuttlebug. It is the christmas ornaments folder. Another beautiful baby card:T

Dawnteabag - Hope you are feeling better soon. As for the letters if you have any baby cards or first birthdays to do maybe you cound make some childrens building blocks with letters on.

Savapenny - That is fine by me about the challenge. I dont think polly is coming on the thread anymore so I dont think she will be bothered.

I have a kind of plan re my Father Christmas embelishment. I've made a hanger out of wire and put it in the top of the suit and thought I could do a 'getting ready for Christmas type' card. Thought if "hung" the jacket up then put everything else ready on a table that might work. Something like 'he's ready - are you?" wording. May even brave having a go tonight just a little unsure how I'm going to make that table. hmmmmmmm
    I agree Polly must return!

I think polly had a disagreement about something and said that she isnt coming back. She didn't explain it too me properly I don't know the proper ins and outs but I don't think that she will be back.

Oh thats a real shame if Polly doesn't come back. She started the original card making thread in the first place.................maybe she'll change her mind............I do hope so.

    OK this weeks challenge.

    Here goes

Make a card out of anything that you find around the house, It can be any theme you like but must not be your usualy craft supplies

Items you can use from your craft box are...card stock for the card itself but not for anything else, double sided tape or glue and a pen and thats it

Example of stuff to use that you would find in and around the house is

Tin foil, backing parchment, bottle tops, tissues, string, newspaper and magazines etc

If you put a greeting on the card it cannot be a peel off

I will be without a computer from Thursday night till probably Saturday morning ( might be Friday night I get back online)
We are having new floors laid in the dinning room and mean old hubby refuses to work around my PC

I am really looking forward to seeign all the creative juices flowing...lol

More Christmas cards from me - will put my thinking hat on re the recycled card idea.
This one hasn't turned out as it should have done but I'm pleased with it in the end

I am NEVER going to attempt to use tissuepaper again - it nearly finished me off. The original idea with this card was that it was to have some blue glove embellishments on it (similar to the red ones below). The tissue paper was supposd to be the background but it was a pig to stick down. In the end it looked such a mess that I had to make the frame to cover up the edges. The there wasn't enough room for the embellishment!
    :rotfl:  :rotfl:  :rotfl:
I can't throw things away so I kept plodding on adding the silver snowflakes to cover up the other imperfections. then the frame looked too plain so I started with the words round the edge. I hate those outline stickers - so fiddly - especially the explanation point and I kpt on loosing 'a'a as they flew off when I tried to prise them off the sheet!

So finally, it was done and I opened the card to write my message. The inside was covered with dirty smudgy marks (my fault - it was that damn tissue paper and glue!) So I chopped it in half and stuck the front on another card

    Tissue paper 0 - Me 1. I'm quitting whilst I'm ahead!
