Aircraft and babies

Driving home from work earlier i was listening to Jeremy Vine as i do most days and the debate was whether airlines should run 'adult only' flights.
Interested by this i looked online and found the following:

I guess the basic question is - if it were available would you pay extra for the 'privilege' of not having to be near a child when traveling on an aircraft?

rather emotive.
I'd rather pay $10 and not sit next to someone who snores, or talks rubbish, or smells, or puts their seat back, or who is generally inconsiderate.Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -

Id rather pay $10 to be able to get away with throwing something at the person on every flight who never puts their seat back up, or their window blind open on landing and has to be told personally.0 -
the list goes on! Does the $10 cover one single throw, or a number of throws throughout the duration of the flight?
I'll add people who don't like children. there's something deeply disturbing about that as a general concept, which is multiplied ten fold at 36,000ftRemember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -

I like well behaved children.I'll add people who don't like children
I don't like ones that jump up and down on plane seats and hurt my kness (or continually kick me in the back at cinemas).
Surely it's not deeply disturbing not to want to be kicked continually??0 -
not at all.
but surely the parents should be controlling those children?Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?0 -

as if they ever do!
they gaze at their little darlings as they run riot and glare at you if you dare to suggest they keep them under control.
nothing worse than a long haul flight full of hoardes of marauding wild kids!
or babies that scream
so yes, I'd pay for a flight without kids.0 -
babies scream and cry on flights and that not going to change, but watching a father do nothing for an hour except read his book while his child let out the most incredible high pitched noise i have ever heard made my blood boil, and mother was sat on another row!!
luckily for the japanese student who was sat next to the baby, the mother eventually decided to sit next to her child and sort it out.
im not keen on mothers who take the attitude of letting there children scream and dont care about other passengers, they are imune to the noise and dont care if it upsets others, i had one father start bouncing up and down on his seat hitting a rattle on the seat infront to let everone else know that the baby crying is the least of our worries0 -
Having flown with a baby who did nothing but cry for 2.5 hours, no matter what I did to try to soothe her, sometimes babies do just cry, and despite, feeding, changing, and cuddling there is nothing that you can do to stop them...so pleased don't be too hard or judgmental on the poor parents, who are suffering too.....0
