oh he is lovely - look at that little face!! I love staffies, they can be the most loving loyal dogs.
Another little abandoned staffie probably - If he is peeing on the floor I bet they never toilet trained him properly and got sick of the mess so got rid, rather than put the work in.
someone here rehomed an adult dog that was peeing in the house but has had some sucess in retraining her using cheese!! - might be worth a read - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=12551930 -
Is there something with staff's? They seem to attract lots of buyers but they are the most likely to be kicked out. The vet said she had lost track of the amount of staffies that had been bought in as strays. Ok so he pees on the floor now and then but after two day of prompting him to go out, he is doing fine. I am trying to remain positive and am hoping he has a loving owner out there that I can reunite him with. In all honesty Ill be sad to see him go, it's like he has always been here.0

I'm not sure what it is with Staffies, maybe some buy them thinking they're tough dogs when they're really softies? Maybe they don't research the breed first, shame they're beautiful dogs & your boy is no exception! Staffs are normally very good with kids, I *think* they're one of only 2 breeds the kennel club recommends for kids? But as you are already doing, always always supervise especially with his unknown background. Any luck with any Owners? I hope if anyone comes forward they can prove it's theirs!0

The thing with staffies is that they have become a bit of a must have dog for people who are perhaps the least able to keep a dog and deal with the responsiblity - young lads especially. They are a muscular, robust looking little dog and are seen as a bit of a status symbol, and perhaps likely to look like they will protect you, which can be important to many young lads who want to look 'hard'.
Many people want this from a dog actually - a lot of men would feel embarrased to walk a yorkie or shih tzu!! However, most staffies are daft as a brush and very very loving!
Most people are keen to judge the sort of young people who often own them as yobbos, but its not always the case, many of them do love their dogs but just dont have the maturity, or the lifestyle, or the finances, or the space to look after them long term.0 -
not sure how to post a pic, but he's just like our lucy she is a staffie cross,
no one (including me at first) wanted her, we have had her for 4 years i got her a week after my wonder dog jay died, I was very worried when the word staffie cross was mentioned. omg how i laugh at that now, i worried i was getting some type of monster, dog fighting etc. Well she is the biggest wimp going, had a period when we were on holiday 4 years ago and that was the start of her loving to wear clothes , we came home to find her wearing a pair of red knickers. I ended up making her some nappies.
I can tell you that you are very lucky to get should a wonderful dog , he will be just like lucy, daft, loving and look after your little boy. Lucy never barked for about 6 months and i do a few checks on the internet and it seems staffies don't bark much. CRY MOAN and act as a spoilt kid.
keep us posted on our mse dog0 -
Almond you just made me realize that he has also not barked. Just moans and groans.
I tried cutting his nails the other night but they are so hard. I need a special one from the pet store. My son named him Ben after Ben 10. I have tried to keep calling him that to a minimum so he does not get used to it if his owners collect him.
I have heard nothing back from any of the agencies I contacted, not even a follow up call. We put up posters this morning so fingers crossed. I am worried that someone will claim him and he is not theirs. He has no collar and look regular so I dont know what I can ask some one to prove he is theirs. He is so friendly he would play with anyone. Any ideas?0
