Morning (well just morning) all - Good luck to you today partic nilrem & oql61 and anyone else still Icewasteland.
Looks like some peeps are getting emails now so BE LUCKY
FYI - I didn't get 2nd but initiated but have not had 3rd email - can't log in now and haven't got the energy to phone to see if there is a problem.0 -
Nilrem and previous poster - we had joint Instant access account, 2 joint fixed accounts and an ISA each. We used same e-mail address and same linked account (joint) for all of them. I initiated mine Tues and husband did his Wed, so what FSCS told you is another mistake!0

Rachel, sorry to hear about your husband needing to use the paper application process.
I think the most likely explanation for the problem is that your joint bank account is linked to your joint icesave account and to your sole icesave account but is not linked to your husband’s sole account. If your husband has ever withdrawn money or interest to your joint bank account from his sole icesave account I am probably wrong.
Unfair certainly. But I can just about see why they might want to do that from a systems/programming point of view.
I think the explanation you were given from the helpline was probably duff info.
I don’t believe there is yet any major evidence that they have made any gross errors in identifying who or who hasn’t got a linked account set up. So I don’t think anybody else who has a linked account set up (and there are no other obvious complications) should worry at this stage. If at all possible I think the FSCS want people to go down the electronic process.
I am not defending the FSCS in any way, just don’t want people worrying at this stage; the FSCS performance and communication has been abysmal. And feel to shoot me down if you disagree on this explanation, I won’t take offence and it may aid clarity.
Just time for this quick post. Good luck all.MSE. Abandon hope all ye who enter here0 -
Nice one, Minimods!
I just tried (4th time today) and still can't initiate and do you know what? I don't give a monkey's ... I am beyond caring now.0 -
Almost the same position as you
1 Joint savings account
1 each ISA
Both use same e-mail address
Same Linked joint account.
Could initiate claim for our joint saving account and my ISA. - Have done so
Still Can't claim back my wifes ISA. - phoned FSCS this morning, told me my wifes claim for her ISA would be done by paper claim - no valid reason.
Nothing is easy with these people.

No second e-mail for me yet. I've been checking my Icesave account once a day at lunchtime the last few days just in case but no luck so far. I'm not getting too stressed about it yet.0
