    Morning All

Wish I hadn't gone to bed so early as I missed all that lovely beer last night!

I don't know how to link to another thread but someone else posted yesterday that FSCS had given them a different reason to mine for not receiving their 2nd email, I've pasted it below. Sorry to be the harbinger of doom but it seems like the FSCS is now telling as many different stories as KE and ING.

Thought this was going to be nice and easy but it's turning out to be a nightmare all over again which is horrible.

Really need to be getting head down at work too but it's impossible when all you want to do is check your email and icesave account.

Sorry for whinging on, I might just have that beer now...

I too have recieved the letter on Monday and I too have a linked account. Recieved the first Email but never the second.
Phoned the helpline and got through without much of a delay only to be told if you have recieved a letter then you have NO option but to proceed down the paper route. The nice guy on the phone said he had all day of people with the same questions and that the main reason (unoffically) is that the electronic route can only handle a set number accounts per day and that the promise to have everyone sorted by mid Dec 08 was never really achievable, so a large percentage will be sent letters in the next week to pick up the slack so at least everyone has been contacted.
He did say to that offically it will take 6 weeks to recieve a cheque in the post but again unoffically said that this will be unlikely and I'll have to wait for a "good couple of months".

I really hope it does not come to letter and a further couple of months, I havent recieved my second email yet, got the 1st email on the 5th Nov, I'm the only 1 of 3 I know who havent recieved the second email. I am currently loosing £600 interest a WEEK ! So its really starting to add up, and the only reason I have that much £ in ICESAVE was due to a house sale its not even my £ its the mortgage companies, there was a screw up during the transfer of cash on completion, so though I am not recieving interest on it I am actually paying interest on it. Dont get me wrong I'm glad I will get the cash back sometime but onces we hit Dec 8th I am already near on £6k out of pocket another 2 months and I will be £12k out of pocket. Please let me get my second email soon pleeeeaaasseeeeeee

...I dunno, our Head of QA strolled in (a terrifying looking woman) and asked for £1 from each of us with a stare that meant "don't YOU dare refuse".

You should have been wearing your "I'm an Icesaver" T shirt, she'd have bunged you a tenner! :D

Gosh, that's rough. I really sympathise. There would seem to be a pattern, with obviously a few exceptions, that those with the most money deposited are being left till last.

I think the FSCS could have sorted out these accounts and dealt with them more fairly. For instance, those with only fixed rate bonds yet to mature should have been put to the end of the queue (since these peoople are being paid interest). At some later point, when I have the energy, I might take this up with them.

The whole system has been GROSSLY unfair.

Yeah I keep trying but no luck, I just called them up and they basically said if I havent got an email by Monday to call them, people will be forced to do the paper route if they havent got a linked account or for other reasons. The account is in my sole name and it does have a linked account, however I never transferred money in and out of the account to my linked account for over 14 months and I know the link can expire it happened on my ING account when I didnt use it much they had to reactivate the link. Anyone else in the same boat not used the account for 1 year plus but got a second email ?

I think tyhere's a down side to getting the 2nd email. It electronically informs other websites of your investment nowce. Since getting mine I have received spam from

    www.chocolateteapots.com and www.ashtraysformotorcyles.com

Anyone else had attempts to exploit our vulnerability?
