  • Just wanted to say SERIOUS THANKS to nilrem for starting this forum... I know I am a late joiner coz I have only just found it, but you have made me feel a lot better in my misery of still not being able to claim my money back.... I so badly need my money back and every day is such a worry of endless attempting to claim it and always being rejected.... its comforting to know I'm not the only one... I just wish none of us were in this ridiculous position of not having our OWN MONEY given back to us... its been 7 weeks now....

Anyway guys, thanks again for this, its the pick up I needed.... gotta keep checking.... x
  • No second e-mail for me yet. I've been checking my Icesave account once a day at lunchtime the last few days just in case but no luck so far. I'm not getting too stressed about it yet.

well after all that I received thee-mail at 12.51pm and have just logged on to claim my money back :j

good luck to everyone else, I'm sure it won't be much longer now :T
  • Has everyone received the email that I just got? If the FSCS have only processed 100,000 it means they are under halfway through. Those still in the queue are clearly not alone.

! "Over 100,000 second emails inviting people to log on to the Icesave website to make their claim have now been sent. If you have completed the process already, please ignore this email.

For customers who did not receive our first email in the initial mailing, and only received it by emailing our special email address or have still not received it, we have some additional advice.

Batches have now been released which include second emails for some of you. These are much less likely to be held in spam filters than the first email. However, in case they are, we suggest that you check your account online once a day at a similar time to see whether your account can be initiated. If it can, this would indicate that your second email has been sent but you have not yet received it.

If you find you can initiate the process, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible, having read the copy of the second email, which can now be viewed on our website at the following address: https://www.fscs.org.uk/consumer/icesave_invitation_email. To go directly to the instructions, you can copy https://www.fscs.org.uk/consumer/icesave_invitation_email into the address line of your web browser (e.g. Internet Explorer).

If you cannot initiate the process, you can check again daily until your second email arrives or you find you can activate the process, whichever comes earlier.

Kindly note that, to avoid congestion in the system, which will slow the process for you and others, we are still discouraging those who received the first email without difficulty from attempting to initiate before receiving the second email.

If you experience any difficulties with the process, please seek assistance by calling Icesave’s Customer Services Helpline on 0845 605 6050.

For those of you who are still waiting, we recognise that you are anxious to complete the process. We would like to assure you that your money is safe, and that we are committed to ensuring that you receive your compensation as soon as possible. We remain on track to offer the vast majority of Icesave customers the opportunity to claim their compensation in November.

Please check our website regularly for further updates.

    Yours faithfully

:j I've finally been able to claim! :j

I just checked my email (it's Webmail because it is my home account) and nothing there surprise surprise. However, I thought I would just log into my Icesave account and there was that wonderful screen saying I could now claim!

Thank you everybody that has been on this thread, you have all been a tremendous source of support through these worrying few weeks. I hope this gives reassurance to those still waiting that it WILL happen.

I will stay on this thread to make sure everyone gets there.

I think the email was drafted some time ago or at least is based on the 21 November figure. Since then it looks like over half of those waiting at 21 November have now got second emails. So the number remaining is somewhere below 50,000 I estimate.

Sorry, I was a bit low-key there. It was exciting to be able to claim at last. :j :j :j

Just hope there's noone else waiting because I know only too well what that feels like.

Congratulations to those who have been able to claim.

Now, dilemma - do I put some of my money in (possibly) sub-prime Chatham or not?

    What are other folks doing?
  • Things are starting to look promising today.

Congrats geosaver, oql61, very unique (can you have gradations of uniqeness by the way or is that the point of the name?).
