FYI
Have finally received 2nd email 17:35 three hours after confirmation emails, and nearly four after initiating claim. Can confirm, continuing another theme, that when I claimed it said the account was made up to the 24 November (or whatever the terminology was), haven't logged back in since.

Ditto! Just received my 2nd email

PS I'd like to apologise for my earlier crabbiness, and to Suesie in particular, I was bang out of order doubting you over such a sensitive issue. My only defence is due the lack of nicotine in my system and I'm ashamed to admit I succumbed to the cravings and have smoked one small roll-up :o

• Just checking in to see how you all are - what a rollercoaster of a day _pale_

Congrats to all those who have managed to initiate, invited or otherwise.
Sorry Suesie to hear of your awful FSCS scare:eek::eek:

And very very sorry to hear about your Mum, St, :( - am sending you a big hug.

Just for reference guys and gals,

I just got home and checked my emails. I got the 2nd invitation email at 11.41 this morning and then got two confirmation emails from the FSCS when I had made the claim. To be honest not much of a confirmation. "We have received your instructions for your account."

The first was from enquiries@fscs.org.uk as expected but the confirmation were from FSCS@SAVINGS.ICESAVE.CO.UK which is a bit odd.

So those who set spam filters to capture the fscs.org.uk domain and are missing the others, check your spam (again!)

tried sending an email to the icesave one above but it just bounced back.................

• Have just initiated claim without receiving second email have printed out copies of each step (just in case) but won't be entirely happy until the money is back in my account. Can't believe it actually worked without having got the second email only tried cos I read about other people trying and being successful

• am only just managing to scroll back through the posts. We haven't received either of our 2nd emails but it looks like some people have initiated their claim without receiving theirs, is that right? (sorry i haven't managed to read every post since I last checked them yesterday)

Right! Do I risk sending off KR application form with no money still in bank and no 2nd email? 1 year or 2 year fixed bond?

Advice please.

I am in same position as you but doubly so in that I have taken a 90day penalty on breaking old bond to fund extra in BMid as well as wanting to open KR.

There is some problem with the post here so withdrawal application took 4 days to reach Cheltenham and I know I won't get that cheque until tomorrow earliest. I intend to use PO next day delivery for both BMid and KR if funds on their way by Thursday.

Come on FSCS get a move on. I only have 2 simple accounts not 6 or 8 like some people.

I've never smoked but have been tempted to start over the last 5 weeks
• Just got home. No emails so tried logging on to Icesave, but still can't initiate the process. This is painful!
