No, because they have withdrawn the account. Only those who have received the application forms and are waiting to send them back can make a deposit by means of a single cheque to be sent with the forms by 30th November.

If you're one of these people then nothing to stop you sending whatever amount you like by cheque ;)

Assuming you're referring to the 1yr Fixed Rate Bond 6.6% account of course :D

Thanks for reply. I have rung them twice now and on both occasions they have told me I can continue depositing by bank transfer until the 30th because I opened the account before it was closed. Now I don't know who to believe. I deposited £1000 the other day and it came back, but this was because I didn't put my account number in the info. I tried again with the correct details. I guess if the money comes back again then I will truly know that I cannot deposit any more, in which case I won't stress any more about the Icesave money.

I hope you're lucky today or tomorrow.

Don't think anyone else has seen that, hope you didn't click on any links in that email. it might say www.icesave.co.uk but could point to www.dodgynigerianbank.ni  ;)

NO, the only links within the email were for FSCS....no link was given for Icesave.....

The subject line started : =?ISO8859-1?B?W05vcnRvbiBBbnRpU3BhbV0g with another 20 or so characters to follow...Interestingly these exact same characters were in an Amazon.co.uk email that flew into my inbox shortly afterwards. Only beyond these characters did they differ....

Ahhh well, if that's the case then go for it :D

I'm about to transfer some money out of Egg to send to them, don't know why I didn't think of it before  just to make sure I get the account open, and can replace Egg savings from Ice money. Just shows all this stress has affected my ability to think logically :o

I need to call them again to clarify something else regarding the ISA (want to know if I send a cheque to open it which will count as this year's contribution, whether I can still transfer in Icesave ISA at a later date) so will ask about multiple deposits before 30th ;)
