Chameleon - sorry to nick your place as 1000th poster - it was entirely unintentional. Also, does your bank impose a limit on how many thou you can transfer to any one institution? Assuming I get my email today or tomorrow and money arrives mon/tues, can I dump £10k into BM everyday until the 30th (including weekend)?

Let's hope it's not just the one batch today!

Done the deed. Just hope the ball fully crosses the line in 3/5 days time. Very mixed emotions. A bit likely having an affair (so I've been told ) excited and guilty all at the same time . I just hope this is the sign of a big push by them to get things sorted. I suppose technically I no longer fit the criteria for this thread, but like Rachael, I'd like to hang on until the very end, until everyone's have got their dosh!

Amistupid - congratulations - am really pleased for you but you must stay in the club as long as you don't make condescending remarks to the rest of us about the wonderfulness of the FSCS;)

I thougt I had drawn lucky as I had some emails but they were only acknowledgements from The Book People - they do have some good books online at the mo and one from Blacks saying - The Cold Weather is on its way - God don't we know it - a cold wind has benn blowing here for weeks now.

...by the way, surely the 1st part of "The Devil's Wh*re" drew you lot away from your laptops for an hour last night.....how can a title like that fail to pull in the punters! Can recommend it, even though I'm kinda squeamish (had cushion to hand)

No, because they have withdrawn the account. Only those who have received the application forms and are waiting to send them back can make a deposit by means of a single cheque to be sent with the forms by 30th November.

If you're one of these people then nothing to stop you sending whatever amount you like by cheque

Assuming you're referring to the 1yr Fixed Rate Bond 6.6% account of course
