Welcome back Jelly Babe... :kisses3:Paulgonnabedebtfree wrote: »The only bit I would question is about refilling the same water bottle over and over. I don't know if this was propoganda put out by the bottled water companies but regularly refilling the same plastic bottle can cause a build up of bacteria. Apparently this applies even if washed out with hot water. Maybe better to get a glass bottle as the bacteria don't build up in that. I'm only repeating stuff that I've read somewhere else (can't recall where though) and can't vouch for its accuracy.
I always find it curious that water can flow for miles in plastic pipes which are buried underground for years in soil which teams with microbes, and which are never cleaned - and it is perfectly safe. Yet, once you put it into a plastic bottle which you reuse for a few months whilst washing it out with hot soapy water - it's going to kill you...

ISOM - that was lovely and I know exactly why it is comforting. The counsellor helped last night. I am used to holding my head up and getting on with it, kind of Mrs Fix-it and get frustrated at the pain, I really really felt she was with me yesterday and I understand time will heal the pain that is there.
Am up bright and early feeling positive. Had som fantabulous news re job, we have basically got 2 year security finally after the stress of being there from the start and not knowing from one month to the next if we will get paid :j Means I can focus on DFW journey without worrying too much. DH "thinks" he will be fine and told me not to worry and just get on with it, so we are going to.
Cleaning food cupboards out to list what we have to use this week and do a v small shop at Mr T with the value brands, DH insisting on going after 7.30 when bargains are on. It's amazing the out of date stuff I have found at the back  and I mean by yearrrsssssss
Spent money yesterday but on a plastic bottle ZTD to use daily and some food. Had to pay for Counsellor but that is a means to an end at the moment. We agreed I would have a weekly session for 4 weeks and then see how I feel I am getting on as so many unresolved issues are popping their heads up. to use daily and some food. Good news on the job security.
I have a little "counselling/kitchen cupboard analogy" which I will share with you as you have mentioned both in the same post........
When you start, it is a bit daunting, and something you might have put off for ages, yet you know it should be tackled at some point.
When you start, you are amazed at the stuff you have harboured, lurking, pushed to the back, buried under more interesting/exciting stuff so you start having a clear out.
When it all comes to the surface, it can feel pretty grim - tears and emotion and facing things you had "forgotten" about with the counselling, and piles of dented tins, spilt packets of lentils and rice, 17 packets of couscous that you bought because they were cheap and would make a change from pasta, and out of date angel delight spread all over the floor in the kitchen. At this point you wish you had never started and are tempted to walk away and finish it off later. BUT you know that if you walk away, no one else will sort it out for you.
So you have to carry on, no matter how long it takes you......and as you ditch those useless things, clean out the shelves, and maybe even discover something precious that you had "lost" that you thought you would never find again, which had been hidden by the old crap you had been accumulating, you start feeling a whole lot more positive about the whole exercise.
At the end of it, all the effort is worth it - you have a shiny ordered cupboard, with packets in date, tins in size order, and only one bag of couscous......you can open the door knowing exactly what will greet you and that feels pretty good!
So......if 4 weeks is not enough for counselling, go for more. don't leave the job half done.
As for the kitchen cupboards, if they are anything like mine, they will take more than 4 weeks too Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Hypno bless you, that is exactly what I have been thinking about, when will I feel better and how amazed I am about the stuff that is bothering me from my childhood. Had wondered whether I could justify the money but I do feel better after speaking to someone last night and I do want to shift this baggage I carry, and a lot of the baggage is associated with how I was brought up and how my parent's relationship to money has affected mine. I owe it to my children to teach them to be more responsible and not run the risk of losing our house!
Having a lovely cheap day so far and going back to deal with the cupboards now.....:rolleyes:Long haulers supporters DFW #109NR Loan #1 - £2951.18 Nov 08/0

What a lovely analagy hypno - and so true! Re the councelling it may be worth considerig cruse re the bereavement bit but if its going well wth the one you have I would stay put - a good councellor is worth their weight in gold! There is something very liberating about all decluttering and while it does take time its well worth it! Helps you see the wood from the trees! Another great way of ridding yourself is to write on big rocks and chuck em out to see - feels fab...esp when they plop!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! The mortgage is 6.19% and the cards are mostly 0% and others fixed for life, so may be a plan to tackle both at the same time - what do you think?

Had a lovely day thanks Squirrel and absolutely free - think we have spent about £20 all week aside from food and petrol :j
Hypno - you poor thing 3 days of cleaning  Having a cleaner means I can catch up on stuff that they don't do, we have a room to decorate and a loft to de-clutter and ebay the contents of, they are next on the list. Is a cleaner not an option at all?
ZTD - our 0% cards are finishing at all sorts of times
 Halifax & A&L - Dec 09
MBNA - 9 months but experience has shown they make renewed offers of 0%
 Virgin - 9 months time
Mint - just waiting for beginning of month for new offer so can move Egg over
I have decided at this point to concentrate on paying NR loans off as they are the highest interest of 8.9% but I may still pay some of the mortgage - decisions, decisions....
Hoping to have some time to go and visit other people's diarys tonight but the kids seem to think it's play time Long haulers supporters DFW #109NR Loan #1 - £2951.18 Nov 08/0 Long haulers supporters DFW #109NR Loan #1 - £2951.18 Nov 08/0

A cleaner is still not an option at the moment - OH took a big pay cut earlier in the year when he changed jobs so some of the MSE money goes to make up his shortfall instead of being available for "extras". Also, now that DS has been selected for the England Schools squad, I have extra training to pay for - I have just sent off cheques totalling £950 and there is more to come, and I wasn't expecting any of that
So, it is left to me to take annual leave to do the housework..........I hope I have the energy for it tomorrow - I have gone from quite excited by the prospect, to quite daunted by it all. I will just have to put the stereo on loud and see where it takes me!
But I WILL get my cleaner - one day!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
