I hope that when I'm 86 that I can think as clearly as this woman obviously does. Fair play to her!

You have made your objective observations
What do you suggest we do?
What do you suggest your parents do?
What do you plan to do to help your parents?
I know one thing for sure, negativity however objective...........is not going to help the many people lurking here, many of them pensioners.
Someone asked were people afraid to leave comments? I thought I would add my personal opinion..........I didn't expect a personal attack for doing so. My brother and sister are also posters on this forum so in answer to your quesions we are doing a lot to help our parents. Maybe this is why people are not leaving comments.0 -
When is the general assembly - would people be willing to stand outside and hand leaflets to delegates containing proposed resolutions for the PCI to honour their moral obligations to the PMS savers. Think that could be quite a fractious event anyway and probably covered by the media as well given all thats going on - no need for placard waving, making a scene etc just a civilised group of people asking the delegates to do the right thing on their way in ??
Could the proposed resolutions be agreed on the forum in advance - is the general assembly held in church house ?
Is this something people would be prepared to do
i) Agree some resolutions
ii) Print a copy
iii) Photocopy lots
iv) Stand outside Church house whenever general assembly is on
v) Give copies to all the nice PCI people as they walk in
vi) Say hello to the journalists and tell them what you think of PCI
Of course all this might be solved by whenever the assembly is - but if it isnt then you might all be angry enough to do something about it
Throw it round the forum and see what people think0 -
:j Sounds good to me...:j0

Me too!! Do we know the exact dates?0

Definitely with you expat. Assembly usually meet s first week in June. I think if PCI got advance word of such action they would come to their scenses in a hurry.0

:T Yes, yes and yes. Presuming I don't have to join the PCI to qualify :rotfl:0 -
Excellent idea expat:
Thats got people posting!!!!
Lets get this together -
I think the General Assembly is May or June? Does it last for five days?? Need the date when the Moderator is speaking!!!
and lets plan ahead.
I'll do the typing and some photocopying -
Who'll cover the Media??0 -
"The Assembly :A meets in Church House, Fisherwick Place, Belfast. All sessions are open to the public
except the private session on Thursday afternoon "

link to 2008 agenda - looks like it opens at 7pm on the monday so you wont even have to take time of work and you'll have two moderators attending for the price of one.0 -
Sickasaparrot posted a great list of links between PCI and PMS a few days ago, which could be incorporated in the leaflet"Our Society is one of the great successes of our Church"
