I just picked up the box that I missed while we were away and bring news of the children's pasta sauce which is a fantastic bargain. I was a bit worried about it- although at 50p for 6 jars it was not a huge gamble. It won't be just kids eating it in our house either.
Anyway, I think Tesco are not doing it any more- or not in mine- so I was intrigued to know what it tasted like. Answer- yummy and quite sweet.
Here are the ingredients- it is blended smooth. No artificial colours or flavours, Strict limits on fat sugar and salt- each half jar contains one portion of hidden vegetables.
Tomato Sauce with pureed red pepper, carrot and onion, for pasta.
Tomato puree 25%, Red Pepper Puree- 21%, carrot puree 20% Water, apple juice from conc. Lemon juice from conc., Onion puree 3%, Maize starch, Raw cane sugar, sunflower oil, garlic, sea salt, black papper.
One child's portion equates to 40g of fruit and veg, half a jar has 61 kcal.Carb 11.1g of which sugars 8g, Fat 1.1g
I got 18 jars, but think I'll get more as it is really nice. May mix it with a tin of tomatoes or whatever- it is versatile I think.
Also the turkish honey is good too, not runny but could be melted, ( just tried some but forgot it was in micro and burnt it:p )
Also, the equadorian truffles are really good. My husband thinks he can tell they are past their date, but I think it is that he doesn't like the dark chocolate taste as much as me- and the kids are on my side. They haven't got that whitish stuff on them. They are the kind of chocs that make you feel full after just one.
It is so good opening the boxes-my son is a bit obsessive about being there to see every item in case I smuggle something nice in and he misses it.;)
My teenage daughter says the tomato and basil symington soup was good too.0 -

Starting Slimming World again on Monday, so my orders will be limited as I won't be eating sweet or ready prepared foods. More 'basic' foods (tinned toms, tinned spaghetti/baked beans etc) would be much appreciated so I can cook from scratch!0

I agree SkintCatt - I would order much more if there was more in the way of storecupboard ingredients and basics.
Treats/chocolate etc are lovely but I don't want them in the house regularly as I will eat too much and to justify the delivery charge I would only place an order if I could order a largish amount of stuff0 -
My OH loves his gingerbread syrup for his coffee. He'd love the dark cherry one that Starbucks are doing now. Plus I've no idea why Whittards struggled as we have cupboards FULL of flavoured coffees from them! :Rotfl:0

Popped down to the warehouse earlier and met Dan. Came back with a smallish order that i'd ordered the previous evening. As one of my items was unavailable Dan suggested the choc muffins. Oh my god, they are gorgeous!! Bang goes the diet!!
Anyway excellent people down there who put customer care first, which is what i like, plus the prices are excellent.
Now i just need to find a bigger house...........
Thanks Dan, see you soon!

Aren't they lovely? The staff I mean...it's so refreshing these days.
I'm on holiday next week so will have to wait till I come back but can't wait to see what's on offer. Just wish I lived nearer so I could pop down in person and browse lol.0 -
Nipped down there this morning with my son. Thank you Dan for such excellent, friendly service, it was a pleasure doing business with you. In reply to earlier thread it was cash only at the warehouse.0
