I got my order and very happy with it! :j
The famous London store jam is Harrod's!
The box is really handy, we're doing a food hamper for my parent's Christmas box, so I can put a load of wrapping paper round it and fill itup (with some of the food I orderdand some extras)
I will be doing another order as well.

Yeah I have to admit that when my DD saw the giant jar of Choc spread her eyes burts from her skull lol.
Just hope I get a response to my email about the peanut butter. Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.0 -

Hi
I don't know if there's something special about the Harrods lids - mine haven't arrived yet - but try wearing a pair of rubber gloves for wonderful grip and that should do the jobl If you don't go in for marigolds then a big rubber band wrapped round the lid does much the same thing. Good luck!

I've just placed an order, then sat down and worked out how much it would have been from Ted Cohens (sad bunny aren't I?) - Dans - £29.86 inc delivery - T's - £62.45, and that's not counting some things (like ice cream mix, and Minute Maid Apple and Mango) because T's don't do them.
Dan - I love you already!
PS - only things that T's beat Dan's on price were Toblerone Fruit and Nut and Keolloggs Honey Nut cornflakes, and thats only because they were Tesco own brand. Best buy was Blue Dragon Crispy seaweed - I am adicted to that stuff - £1.56 EACH in T's - 20p each from Dan.Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
Hold the jar upside down with the lids in some hot water - they will expand and should be easier to open.

If anyone wants to know - the peanut butter is good - absolutely no problems being out of date. A true bargain.
The tescos chocolate spread - yes our's is 'bitty' too - I'm sure though that when spread on toast the kids won't notice.
The plum loaf - yes, it's a bit hard but it's supposed to be a bit like that I think. If you toast it with some butter you will have no complaints!!!0 -
Had an email from Dan today which is nice to see.
The loaves I got were like bricks - and I took it to mean B 01/08 and B 02/08 meant before Jan 08 and Feb 08, maybe not but that's what common sense would say. I also tasted one and the fruit to me tasted iffy so to be safe I binned the lot. Having said that they only cost £1 so no great shakes.
As for the honey, I wouldn't give my two tiny children food which I thought was iffy, who would. It looked like mould to me.
EVERYTHING ELSE WAS FINE !!!!!! And as I said in my first post, I would recommend Dans business to other users and was overall very pleased with the customer service received.
Best of luck.0 -
Purplepardalis did you get the 8 jars stated on the site of the peanutbutter. I did not and have not had a reply to my email yet either. Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.0
