    Well...

am too busy to worry about the debt this week - got an assignment to finish (well start actually...) and just generally busy with family stuff.

Aims are to get all coursework sorted THEN start doing some ebaying etc. Not much point in listing if I am not going to be around....

Otherwise things going smoothly. Still have nothing in emergency fund though..... Looking forward to pay day ;O)

  • Well I like a challenge - let's see

    rent 300
phones 70 (2 phones) mobiles - can you call them and negotitate better contracts? they can only say no after all - point out that Orange/Tmobile/Virgin (whoever) are doing better deals such as ........ and ask if they can beat it.
    landline 30 (need for work)
childcare 420 are you eligible for childcare vouchers from work /does the place your little on is at accept them?
    nhs cert 10.25
dental ins 34.56 worthwhile but seems rather expensive - can you not get cheaper - Tesco's looked quite good a while back when I looked at it.
car ins 34.57 can you shop around and save anything here?
fuel 120 find the cheapest garage in your area - I think there is a website- petrolprices (or something like that) and our local newspaper does a petrol pricewatch - maybe yours does?

Good Luck - perhaps some of the above suggestions will give you a little more to throw at your debts.

  • 280 a month for luxuries/going out is a lot. Does this include food as well?? You could probably cut that back by going to the cinema on Orange wednesdays - think you can get the sim cards for about 1 pound and it gives you 2 for 1 cinema tickets on a wednesday, going out to restaraunts that have 2 for 1 ie pizza express, zizzi have offers on etc - see Martins deals section, etc, etc.

  • thanks for your advice!!!!!

the 280 a month doesn't include food as that is included within our rent (thanks mum!) but it needs to pay for everything I,my OH and boy need (he's 16 months) so I don't think I can reduce this to much but will see how it goes...and may reduce next month

Phones - 70 a month but there is 295 cash back to claim (1st claim due this month) and we had a PS3 which we sold for 200 and paid off cc. So isnt as bad as it looks. I will call them though and see what they can do!
dentist - IT IS EXPENSIVE. trouble is I am a bit stubborn on this - have been with same dentist since I was a child and am too scared to move...
car insurance - definately being ripped off at present. changed car mid-policy and was treated harshly. renewal is due in january so will be more MSE from then. The last payment is due next week on this also :O)
Childcare - already get childcare vouchers from work. Annoying OH's company don't do them.
petrol - thanks for the tip will have a look. Always just assume that TESCOS is cheapest...

Can not get motivated on anything today. too busy surfing and watching tv. d'oh. need a red bull

    xx

hmm... again can not get motivated!!! What is the matter with me???? MUST DO MORE! Right have a cuppa to hand and will start looking.

    To do -

    1) ring tax credits to see if entitled to any more money - just realised that
childcare costs went up and they don't know
    2) go to doctors
    3) send cc payment
    4) sort plan for month now that have to find extra £180 for things. DOH
    5) start thinking what to get people for xmas

will start from there. BH X
