I rang Somerfields at Fleetwood on my return home and mentioned the £24.99 deal as highlighted on here. They took my number, made enquiries and called back saying they had saved me an MP3 player at £24.99.

A big well done to the staff at Fleetwood's Somerfield store for taking the time and trouble to chase it up and thanks for all the info provided by members on here. :xmassign:

ps. They do come with a slot for SD/MMC cards. It's situated next to where the headphone lanyard attaches/headphone sockets at the top of the player.

I can't see the slot at all! Could it be that I've got a different model?
  • It might well be, compmad1.

The Medion product number is MD 81018. On the box it states MP3 player + SD/MMC-card reader.

There is a small (black) picture of a media card on the front face of the device at the end where the card slot is situated.

  • Hi, I have just bought one of the MD 81018 players from Somerfields in Edinburgh (Gorgie Rd), they have got about a 10 left.

Now I want to know, what is the best way of converting my CD tracks into MP3 files?

My PC has Windows 98 SE installed.

This is my first MP3 player so I'm not quite sure how to do this - any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  • They didn't have any in my local Somerfield, but they do have them in another Somerfield close by (apparently got 10 in stock). I'm off there in a mo to grab myself one, as my mum's nicked my 256mb tesco jobby!
