Does it have air con, if so just put it on full heat with the aircon (it dries the air) on.

It does have air con. So I'll put air con on along with full heat? I guess that could work. I didn't realise it dried the air quite that much. Never thought to turn air con on at this time of year!

  • could you get hold of some silica gel? Like the little sachets that are sometimes in food packets and other stuff to keep the moisture away? I'd guess that you could get them from a craft store, and then dry them out in your over over low heat between dryings out.

I work for VW who have had some issues with water ingress, so may have been able to suggest where it's coming in. It may be worth a phone call to Pug to see if there are any friendly people able to suggest fixes or even warrenty recalls on them. VW honour their recall on the pollen filter sealant on Passats for years, it doesn't have to be under warrenty still...?

Thanks, I might try that. Though it had the windscreen replaced about 1 year ago (not by Peugeot), so it may not be covered, even if the car was still under warranty (it's not).

I'm not sure if my air con is that sophisticated, but will definitely give it a go!

    That's probably your problem then.

I had a similar thing on my old Golf, someone had replaced the windscreen with a non-genuine version and it was letting in water all down the one side AND bottom where it wasn't made/fitted properly. I had to take out all the carpet and underlay as it was going mouldy underneath :o

That's the kind of thing I was thinking. But I'm pretty sure there are "cushions" full of something similar you can get. I'm just not sure where from!

All air-con systems use an air dryer, yours will do the job fine...but check the carpet for damp and mould (see above post!)

Pretty useless unless the leak is straight onto the gel/cushion and will be sodden in a day if its raining hard. Fix the leak first, rather than try soak up the leak as its coming in!
