Water in my car!
Hi, my wife told me last night that she had noticed water in the driver's footwell of our car. It was properly soaking. Nowhere else was wet. I think I've managed to re-seal the area it was coming in (between windscreen and frame) properly and used a sponge to get the worst of the water out. Needless to say, it is still damp, but not enough to get any more water out with the sponge. My question is how do I get the remaining dampness out?
I have seen those small "pillows" that soak up moisture and regenerate on your radiator, does anyone know what they're called? Or does anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks in advance!

2 things. Firstly are you sure (daft i know) it hasnt just dripped off your wifes wet shoes?
Secondly, look and feel across the bottom of the driver door on the inside. A problem may be that rain is getting down through the window and running inside through the speaker or the door panel.0 -

Ours runs through down the inside of the front passenger door panel (I think) and then trickles out the bottom. Any ideas how to fix this? Would it be the rubber round the window?
Boot leaks too but only on one side so the area round the wheel arch is wet but no-where else - no idea where that's coming from?
Any help gratefully receivedworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
When my sister sunk our shared car in a very very big puddle (she had to climb out of teh window...) we dried it out with hair drier and electric fan heaters0

Hi, thanks for the reply.
No, there was far too much water for it to have dripped off her shoes.
I'll check along the bottom of the door, to make sure it's not coming in there as well. However, I actually saw the drips coming off the padding on the frame next to the windscreen as it was raining quite heavily last night where I am. As I said I think I've sorted that part of it, but I'll have to see the next time it's raining heavily.
In the meantime, I'm concentrating on getting the car dry.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

I can't get an electricity supply to it easily, I'm afraid. At least not where I live!Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

Does it have air con, if so just put it on full heat with the aircon (it dries the air) on.0

I work for VW who have had some issues with water ingress, so may have been able to suggest where it's coming in. It may be worth a phone call to Pug to see if there are any friendly people able to suggest fixes or even warrenty recalls on them. VW honour their recall on the pollen filter sealant on Passats for years, it doesn't have to be under warrenty still...?:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things.
