    YES YES YES!

Our office overlooks the top floor of a multi-storey car-park, and only last week we watched as a woman tried to escape from her parking space having been boxed in on ALL sides!

Two morons had parked their cars in front of hers in 'non spaces'.

It took her ages - heaven help her if she had to be home to get the children or get to an interview.

15 minutes later, back strolls one of the culprits on the mobile phone, oblivious to the trouble her ignorant thoughtlessness has caused.

Good news though - she stayed on the mobile phone as she drove off and clipped a raised kerb next to the down-ramp, breaking the front corner off her bumper area - LOL LOL LOL.

Don't you just love Karma?! serves her right!

I'm in two minds, I'd like to say I wouldn't, mainly because I wouldn't want to dent my own car but then again I know I've done it in the past. It was intentional though tbh, they'd just parked far too close and I couldn't help but nudge them. I had a corsa with big fat plastic bumpers at the time though so did nothing to either car!

I'd only do this if I owned a big battered old car where a few extra dents would make no difference. I do own an eight year old car but the bodywork is still in excellent condition so I wouldn't risk it. If I thought I could gain the owner's attention by hooting, I would do so, but would be mortified if I then got fined for using my horn whilst stationary.

Thats interesting that the police will send a traffic warden out - the police take ages to respond to burglaries etc where I live so I'd be interested to see if someone did turn up to check on parking ;) .

Depends how much of a rush I was in - I'd be furious but prob wait and give them a good cursing if I had time, but if I needed to be somewhere then I would bump them out of the way - it's their own inconsiderate parking thats caused the problem.

What do/would people do when someone blocks your driveway tho? I always park my car in the drive and every single weekend my next door neighbours relatives visit and block my car in, or stop me getting back in my drive if Im out. I'm fed up having to knock on their door and ask them to move the car from in front of my drive...I've seen them move out of the way - I drive off and then they put it right back in front of my drive again - it 'drives' me bonkers ! ....Once one of them even sighed, rolled his eyes and said the immortal words "women drivers".......argh !!!!!!! I get on with my neighbour so I don't wannt to cause an argument, and you can't nudge someones car out of the way in this instance!

If you have a dropped kerb ring your local police station. They will contact the driver and give him/her a ticking off and a ticket or fine. I found this out recently when I rang them with this same issue as I get fed up of being blocked in or out as well.
Never let your sucesses go to your head and never let your failures go to your heart.
  • Definately.
Then the inconsiderate gits would think twice next time.

During my stint as ambulance driver, if I was blocked in or had an obstruction (to/from an emergency) it's well within our limits to give our central control a call, give them the registration of the car and shunt it out the way. I believe that one call also invalidates the persons insurance to their own vehicle and they have to pay for the repairs to the ambulance.

Never was in the situation but always hoped I would be...

  • As a member of the dreaded WVM (White Van Man) Club, I've been blocked in opposite my shop many a time by some pratt who've got their licence out of a lucky bag! We regularly watch people's very bad attempts @ parking even tho u know there's NO WAY you'll get that in there!, but still have a go. My car's been "bumped" @ least 9 times since August (1's getting summon'sed b4 Xmas n t'other 1's getting sorted thru Insurance) but 1 idiot jammed my van in even tho I said if he moved bk a tad, I'm just going. So u can jump into my space. The reply was VERY fruity to say the least. So I, ahem! shoved his Clio back so his drivers door was blocked by a large roadside bin and pinned him up against a Shogun. Would've loved to have seen his face. One of my mates and his friends jammed a inconsiderate parker between two posts before. Now that would have been a task to get that one out un-scathed!!
  • Since it is an offence to cause criminal damage, which this clearly is, I would spend a few minutes asking around for the owners. If no success, I would phone the police, giving them incorrect info about myself, for reasons stated in a minute. If the police show no interest, I would definitely push the car or cars out of the way, taking care not to damage my own vehicle. If I damage theirs: tough luck and if they report the damage to the police, they will have no idea whom to come after. Secondly, for the benefit of the goody goody people who have criticised people like me for our fictional illegal actions: Say you had a phone call saying that your child or partner had been rushed to hospital in a critical condition and you should get there urgently, what the hell would you do? Sit in your car waiting like a complete berk while your loved one was uttering their last breath. Come off it, whom are you trying to kid? This would be just another example of the anti-social behaviour we have all come to expect from certain elements in our thoughtless society. I would also leave a less than polite note on the offenders vehicle.
  • Yes, of course I would. They were thoughtless so I'd bump their cars out of the way and even run my door down the side just to serve them right!

I am certain the guy did it on purpose, but he ALWAYS parked directly in front of my drive whether there were other spaces available or not! One day I came home and his car was there again, so I pulled up behind him bumper to bumper. I then parked my bike in front of his car - again directly in front of his bumper. Then I went inside and waited. Sure enough after half an hour or so the door knocked and there was a small child asking if I would mind moving my bike so his dad could get out. I did, but not until he and I had words. I told him that if he did it again he would have to wait the length of time that I had to wait to enter my own drive, or he could call the police if he preferred and I would happily explain it to them. He hasn't done it since.
There was another idiot who did the same, but this time decided he was in the right because he worked for the council???????? Maybe local authority workers have different laws to everyone else.
Try saying "I have under-a-pound in my wallet" and listen to people react!
  • This used to happen all the time at the company i used to work for. There was no where near enough car parking spaces so cars ended up parked where ever possible (I am responsible and at least left contact details including my phone number, if i had blocked someone in). Anyway one day (after far too many night of leaving my car at work and getting a lift home only to have to pick it up later) my dad and brother arrived with a spade each and moved the car out of the way! Although this is not always a practical solution I would have paid to see the look on the owners face when te realised their car had "moved" by itself!
And in answer to the original post, I would definately "bump" the car out of the way if i was sure i would damage my car, after all you should be more cautious and considerate!!!
