Evening all
Hugs to Candy, Jay, Mrs Mix, Smokey & PP.
MSD, please don't worry about the silly pm, I remembered why you were up at funny hours & I have mush for brains, some people have nothing better to do.
I went to the Dr's today and she told me I'm fat, funnily enough I knew that, but she had no interest in my shoulder or hands at all. She suggested I join gym!!!! With what? And I can't see that I'd be able to use much of the equipment, in fact last time I went swimming I could only swim round in circles like a boat with only one paddle. She obviously hadn't listened to anything I'd said, even when I told her I walk 3 miles on the days I walk to work. I gave up eventually & left with no help or advice, hey ho, never mind.
Have a good evening everyone.
hugs Hester

Hester - how annoying!!! I hate to suggest this, but is there another GP in the practice? My sister in law (Wannabe Hyacinth) says that all women GPs are rubbish and perhaps this is one of the reasons she says it. Mind you, now I have been tagged as a depressive I think if I went in with a broken leg I would be given anti depressants, so perhaps you need to see a doctor with a different hobby horse. Fortunately my GP is even bigger boned than I am, so at least he is not going to say anything about that.
Mioliere - thank you for the linky, I now know where to send knitted things. I knit for therapy but there are only so many sweaters I need, dear heart refuses to wear sweaters no matter where they come from and I don't want little bear to be teased for 'home made clothes'. And I have no objection to you drifting off topic. Far from it, in fact.
Money Saving Diva - I love 'hearing' you, and it is lovely to start the day with your posts. Why someone has to pm you I have no idea, as if there is anything to say I think on the whole it can be kept in the thread. I have been known to forget that sound piece of advicebut something like that seems so petty. I hope Treacle is okay. It is so hard when a furry friend (or fiend, in the case of evil cat) is suffering, and they can't tell you how to make it better.
Evil cat is still mainly merely malevolent. I am a little concerned about her. I think part of her is just giving up. She has no furry companions, we lost our other cat in April, then she is appalled by little bear and she is elderly, fourteen years old. I don't think she could cope with another kitten, and with little bear only 23 months old I think he is too young for us to get a kitten. Anything with scales or belonging to the rodent family is definitely unwelcome as an addition to the family.

I've just popped in to say that I start back at work on Thursday, not tomorrow (thank goodness because I'm having a routine mammogram at 9am). Thank you all for your good luck wishes - I shall carry them with me on Thursday and will pop back on here and let you know how I get on. My last day of freedom tomorrow so I have a huge list of stuff to accomplish but I know I won't get it all done.
We've just got back in from seeing the QE2 off on her final voyage; lovely fireworks, great atmosphere but very cold. Such a shame to see such a lovely ship leave the city for good.
Hope everyone has a great evening.

WEll, jacket potatoes didn't happen. Gave ds option of an egg meal instead, as I got 1 1/2 doz eggs at Costco last night. Snipped in some bits of chorizo and sprinkled some italian seasoning. He thought it was wonderful. DH liked it too. I'm not an omelette fan and can take or leave chorizo, so I had the mushroom soup that was left over.
I was really upset (actually distraught) when I lost 8 of my 14 hours work as of last Thursday, but now I think about it, I'm enjoying the opportunity to get back to my OS ways that I was good at before I started doing 4 days this term. I will worry about the money, but enjoy the challenge of making stuff stretch further to narrow the gap. Evening girls (and guys!)
Our office fell silent at 11am today too; a few moments thought about all those who have fought for us.
Belated anniversary wishes to the Donny-Gals, and also Happy Birthday PippaS.
Diva, absolutely - as someone said, those of us who post here regularly know why you're up early & it's not down to any one person to dictate how or when you should post! And they obviously haven't even got the guts to say anything openly. I love your posts, they're always so chatty & friendly, and your recipes are fantastic too
Redruby, mmm, rhubarb flapjacks, that sounds scrummy
Mioliere, good luck with the job Thursday (in case I don't get here tomorrow).
Am so tired tonight, had a stressful day (few days) - so apologies for not being able to remember very much from the thread. Exhaust now hanging off the car, luckily it's booked in for Thursday to have that & brakes done anyway. Means I have to get the train to/from placement tomorrow & it's quite a long walk from the station to the office. Took me an hour to get in this morning as there had been an accident somewhere so traffic gridlocked. Then went to the doctors this afternoon as I came across a lump a week ago & it's not doing anything... seems to be an infected cyst so have got antibiotics. But my aunt being diagnosed with breast cancer 2 months ago meant my imagination was running riot.
Roll on the weekend......

Hello everybody,
Really late tonight, visited little brother who is 55 to-day...seems like only yesterday my father came into the kitchen to announce his birth...doesn't time fly.
Had a baking fit this morning, made 2 apple pies, light fruit cake, clementine cake, not sure I baked it for long enough as it sank big time when I took it out of oven...stays in tin until to-morrow so will see how it seems then, made big pot of debris soup which even Ulick liked!
No rain here until this evening, but b***dy cold and windy, think we are to have no rain to-morrow...that's almost 3 days in a row!
MSD...ignore nasty people, only way to deal with them IME.
Thinking of PP, hopefully all is well.
Hugs to all who need or want one or more, welcome to newbies, congratulations to all who are celebrating

I have to go regularly to have cysts drained - have been seeing my boob-man for almost 10 years and now have 100 mile round trip every few months since I moved away from his hospital....had a more solid lump removed in 1992 but nothing else apart from biennial mammograms for another 6 years on the screening programme, then I go annual  ...can't those who've had one tell they were invented by a bloke - if he had to do that to HIS bits, he'd have found a much less uncomfortable way to do it! :rotfl: My mum & her sister both had breast cancer & secondaries, as did their aunt, hence the screening.
Hester - I agree with Sybil, maybe another GP would be more attentive?
MSD - Hope you're in bedSend good wishes to your American friend & his family from over here
And take no notice - if anyone sends you snippy PM's tell us & we'll sort them out for you
Sybil - has little bear got his slippers on again tonight?!
Right, need to dry my hair before bed with my hottie (no OH til Thursday) so I'm off......roll on Thursday & Friday, flexi days, lots of cleaning, ironing, christmas puddings, jam and a lie-in

Elona glad the hobnobs were a hit and another variation with the oats so simple too
i made the apple cake in the remoska and was amazed at how little time it took to cook and it is delicious, i will have some later with custard
I am thinking of getting a remoska ,,does it cook literally everything as i have been looking at a tefal actifry as well but they are both quite different
I am sure there is a remoska thread on here so i will have a look at that
I made my bread again and it dropped again ,,think it must be the machine
using it for toast again
