OS Daily Tues 11/11/08

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tue 11th Nov. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning.

Late start today I see. I was late home last night after working, but still managed to wake up early. Eating a chinese at 1am was maybe my downfall

Looks wet out there still. OH has 3 days supply teaching this week, which is a great help to the house hold budget.

Late start today and so with no one in the house, I might actually get some things done.

N9eav, how's your chickens doing?? Well they are laying still as I put a light in the chicken house during the winter. I am going to have to get rid of some though as they are no longer productive and it's costing me to feed them. Remember the movie chicken run? No pies. but freectcle springs to mind.
NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!

    Morning all,

Its a bit brighter here today, although there is loads of flooding. Quick tidy through today, and the bedding needs changing.

Daisy, well done on cutting down :T , we have pork chops tonight, I always cover them in water and slow cook them, 20 mins before we eat I take them out put a bit of oil on then crisp then up in the oven, I then use the cooking water for the gravy they are delish very tender.

Might make some flapjack today, never made it before, but I noticed a recipe on the back of my porridge, so might give it a go.

DD made a milk chocolate and chestnut tart at school yesterday, which looks delish, so I need to get some cream to go with it, I also need some spuds.

Hester good luck at the Dr xx

    Pippa s Happy Birthday x  :T :j

    Hugs to all xx
  • Good Morning All

    Daisychain - well done :T :T . I used to be a 20 a day - 1 good thing about the creditcrunch - cant afford it.

Yesterday was very productive which was great so have great hopes for today also. In office first thing then housework. Need to pop to the butchers for sausages for tonight. Have a Mr T shop coming - only tins and jars and things and it cost double what I'd expected!

Will also make a cake today, walnut if I have some walnuts if not will be carrot. Think will also make the kids some muffins.

Todays housework challenge will be to spring clean the shower room - so lots of vinegar required to descale. Upstairs will be smelling for quite a while. Hopefully wont be so damp today so can get some windows open.

Off to finish my tea - have a great day.

    Morning all!

Off to work later for a long shift but hope to get the ironing done before I go.

    Happy Birthday to pippa.S:bdaycake:

(((hugs))) to PP - hope the op goes well, will be thinking of you.

Need to take some food to work for dinner tonight as its cauliflower cheese on the menu and I've had that the last 2 nights at home and cant face it again. Got some Glamorgan sausages(veggie) so might take them and have them with SW chips and an egg:drool:

    Off for a browse now

    Take care all x
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • Morning everyone,

Ooh, I don't want to go out today, it's horrible.

Baking today -loaves, rolls and maybe a cake? -maybe not I'll only eat it

Kids have had bacon sandwiches for breakfast and they have bacon and cheese rolls for lunch (bread dough rolled up with bacon and cheese and baked) -bit of bad planning there, still they'd eat bacon at every meal if they could.

Fish pie for tea -using up some of the contents of my freezer;)

    Loads of laundry today
