Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Name Dropper I've been Money Tipped!
I think my usual £100 for two adults is going to be blown out of the water this month.

As in the sales we are going to be buying a freezer and I want to fill it up.

I have already spent £14 on Jan budget and that does not start until the 28th Dec. Oops.

Never mind it is only money. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I will join in with this starting on 1st Jan. Spending £500 on 5 adults, 1 eight year old, 2 dogs and 2 cats.

Nobody is perfect - not even me.
  • Maybe I will start the challenge from next month

Not sure what most single spend on their grocery challenge

....any singles out there ??? what do you spend ???
  • I'm going to start it from 01/01 this time and not 25/12 when I got paid - sorry but that means that it will not include my sausage, bread, potatoes and mushrooms which I bought today (total £3.67). I have also discovered that I have a lot on my boots advantage card so I feel a little less "down" (Even if the business manager ta work has come to me and asked how I "feel" about losing 2.5 hours per week.......... saving them £19 per week.......). tonight if I do not feel too shattered (feel really tired at the moment and have been going t obed about 8.30/9 most nights) I shall inventorise (?) the freezer which is full to the gills....... so, life isn't that bad (apart from work.....) :xmastree:
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

Hi all, I am joining in again. I will be starting my diet again in Jan, and need to stock up on some things like frozen meat and fish, but other things we already have quite a lot of ie loads of frozen veg, and supplies of washing powder, loo rolls etc. Sometimes while I'm dieting OH asks me to cook separate meals as he doesn't like all my 'diet' meals, but I'm really going to try hard to stick to the £17 a week on average that we usually manage fine on just the 2 of us. Good luck to you all!

Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams :)
  • my month will start tomorrow - £70 for the two of us. i did that last month not including the christmas alcohol and have so many bottles of wine left! also i asked loads of people for toiletry sets for christmas so shouldnt have to buy shower gel or deodorant for a while. also my grandad gave me £60 for christmas and i have about £15 in change in the house so im not gonna take my card with me! im actually looking forward to it! i buy everything from lidl/farm foods and aldi except for milk, and whiskers but then my auntie gave me a ten pound tesco gift card for christmas so should be alright there too!

  • Ok ok this is going to be sooo hard for me, as I am a useless shopper, I have no idea even how much a pint of milk is (blushes) theres 2 adults and 2 children here and I am going to set a target of £225 from the 1st January!

Just to add I could really do with some help on the meal planner front, if anyone can help, my children are really not ones for curry and chilli etc as they are only young. its trickie sometimes, I get fed up having to make two seperate meals, sometimes three!!
