Well I came in at £322.74 for the period 16 dec-28 jan and that was including a £95.00 shop for all my Christmas food & drink so that's nearly 6 weeks which averages out to £53.79 per week which is only £3.79 over budget per week.

Not too bad considering the time of year but will aim to get it back to £50.00 per week next month.

Now moving over to the Feb Grocery challenge thread-see you there & weel done to everyone who acheived their targets and to those who didn't-there's always next month!!

First month of trying this. Had a budget of £280 - came in at £229.48! :j
So this month my target is £200.
  • My month doesn't run out till Monday, I have a few bits in, but no bread, cheese, milk, fruit, ham Argghhhh! I have £12.50 left, realltry trying NOT to go over budget. I think I have done well, as I have bought lots of baking tins and stuff and have classed it as groceries, cupboards still got lots of tins in, freezer is getting a little sparse, but can manage till Monday, might invite ourselves to mums for sunday lunch!! (shes always happy to have us)

I have learnt a lot from doing this and never thought I would be able to, I now find myslef looking in ppls trollies and seeing all the pre-packed meals people squander their hard earned cash on, just like I used to, I fell like saying to them get yourself on MSE (lol)
    February Grocery Challenge £250.00

Spend so far £230!! (Ohhh my days HELP) still got almost 2 weeks left!!
  • This was my first month trying the grocery challenge. I set myself a target of £200, actual spend was £218.49. So I am going to try again for February. I will stay with £200, but I have picked up a few tips along the way so hope I can reduce this.

I'm setting myself a target spend of £50 so I can maximise amount of money going towards credit card. No doubt there'll be a few doing the same. :)

Managed to come in under budget. Spent £38.62 and still got plenty in the cupboards. :)
