Really pleased for those of you who have got the second email, I'm still waiting patiently. I havn't read the entire thread- but what have people who have recieved the second email, but not got a linked account done?

    I havn't got a linked account.

You need to contact the FSCS and tell them you will be going the paper route.

It says somewhere on their web site that those who do not have a linked account registered will be sent a form from mid November, so if you have not received it in the next few days - contact them

But my heart skipped a beat - both times - when I seemed to lose connection to the site just as I pressed 'confirm'. Did it again and it worked though. phew!

    (My name begins with W)

I was in the 16.56 batch with you yesterday, and my surname is also W. Maybe each batch of daily emails is sent out throughout the day based on surname?

OK here are the details for you,
    http://www.fscs.org.uk/faq/icesave_faqs/
    16. I now have a different nominated bank account. Could the existing details be changed? If you advised Icesave of the change and your instruction was received prior to 7th October 2008, your request will have been processed and you should have received written confirmation of the change of details. When you receive your invitation email, please log on and check the nominated account details are correct. If they are not correct, please do not attempt to process your claim online. You will be contacted in due course to make a claim under the manual process.

    Re: the 3rd (confirmation) email.

1/ Do you get this email for each of your accounts?
2/ How long did this email take to arrive?

I initiated claims for 2 people at home, who have 3 accounts between them. 24 hours later only one confirmation email has appeared (I've already checked the spam filters).

    1) Yes
    2) 15 hours

If you look back through nongeographicalman's posts, you'll see that he's just a sad little man who whines and moans about everything. Not a positive cell in his body.
Even after he's got his money back, he is still whingeing on and no doubt will continue to do so.

Can I mention "ignore lists" ?

    1) I only had one account, so yes
    2) 2 hours

I can't believe how the arguments on this thread dragged on last night, but despite his lack of popularity I do think that NonGeographicalMan has a good point that the FSCS really should not have used the spam email provider to send out the 1st and 2nd emails when so many ISPs would simply block them. They obviously didn't fully think it through, but having said that, when things have had to move so quickly, the odd mistake will be made, so we can forgive them.
  • Thanks for that- I presume those of us without linked accounts will not recieve the second email then? Just the paper based claim form? And theres nothing we need to do at present, just wait for our form to arrive?

    Thanks again
