  • I though DSS was something else too

I'm not very good with the abbreviations - my best guesses were

    BM - Bl**dy Mother-in law
    DSS - the benefits people

    So failed miserably! :D

I think you've got a few precious months where you get any choice about what's on TV at all. Soon it will be kids stuff constantly.
Someone else said that the fact that you're asking probably suggests that the time has come, and I think there's a lot of truth in that.

So for now, I'd say stick with stuff that you want to watch but isn't overtly violent.
Then, as the months progress, you'll be wanting kids stuff that is bearable for adults. Off the top of my head I'm thinking Toy Story (1 and 2, though some parents think 1 is too violent), Shrek (lots of intelligent jokes for parents), Monsters Inc (first scene is a bit scary, but other than that is ok), Dr Suess (though that's probably just me!), Finding Nemo, Chicken Run, Pinocchio.
And, of course, don't forget your old favourites from childhood (e.g. Muppets, Magic Roundabout, etc).

And, like izoomzoom in post #2, I wondered just what you were getting up to on a Sunday afternoon!

We watched the muppets on one of the Sky channels last Saturday afternoon over at my mum's - brought back memories.
My son (6) was laughing his head off at Miss Piggy :rotfl:
Might try and get him the muppets christmas movie for his stocking!

Muppets should be compulsory viewing for all kids (and adults!) :j It's SO much better than most of the drivel they shovel out on kids' tv these days!

My children love the muppet show - one is 12, the other is 3. It's something we can all watch together :D If they are bored in a waiting room etc. I just have to whisper 'ma na ma na' in their ear to send them into fits of giggles. Gosh, I'm so childish :rotfl:
