soappie you sound a lot more positive about work, I know previously you seemed a bit bogged under with it so maybe it's just the change you need with the new project.

SarahS most who've had this bug here (pressuming same one as half the country seems to have had it/have it) say most kids seem like they have really improved, ask for food then it starts again. With mine it's fluids (and definately no milk! I keep them off milk for at least 2 days after bugs) usually stay down better if they are warm I find, then once the sickness stops I let them eat something if they are hungry, until they can keep fluids down for at least 6 hours I see no point. Told not to starve if jusy diahorrea because it causes 'starvation stools'. Can you tell one of mine spent a lot of time in hospital with stomach issues? He had a major reflux problem which used to cause him to become seriously dehydrated very quickly if he got a bug. Fluids I usually use are diluted fresh juice (not orange or anything too red as it stains!) sprite/7up or just a salt/sugar HM water mix. Must work as mine aren't usually sick more than once with bugs but friends kids vomit non stop.

cardiff sounds like you have been busy, good luck staying awake

Gryfon if you ask the pharmacist they should be able to tell you, my sympathies, I've had back problems since I was 8 years old so know how you feel, I think it's more frustrating than anything else that I want to do more and can't. It's ok them saying not to just rest a bad back but when you can't physically move it's difficult. Physio is very expensive, I haven't found any offered by the local NHS team over the years useful. My brother in law sees a chiropractor (well when he's working, bit skint at the mo) and says that has really helped so something I am saving up for to try it. Well done to your older ones for being a helpful lovely.

Oh dear pigpen, guessing by your DS3s personality she must have either deserved it (in his opinion) or got in his way.

Michelle :rotfl: the big boy pants thing made me laugh, I had one who did the same, didn't want nappies but wouldn't go elsewhere, but mine did just wet the pants. Hope you are feeling better soon.

greenbee that happened on an old neighbours fence where I used to live, they couldn't even spell what they painted properly. Does make you wonder why people do things like that, not as if it achieves much apart from costing someone to remove it. Seen another with hoawers house, was supposed to say !!!!!'s House and was written by a cross wife of someone who the resident was having a fling with.

Right, well, my list, why do I always have to do more? In my defence to clear the drainer it was going to be impossible without clearing the plastic tubs cupboard. So I went a little mad and emptied it, flung what wasn't usable (why do I put broken ones back in?) and resorted. Drainer now cleared :D Few bits left to do from the list, being sensible and taking small amounts of bathroom stuff up at a time (there is loads, some came out of caravan and others from under the sink? no idea) Then I realised I needed to go shopping and to pick some stuff up so left DP with DS2 and went out. Got the bits and pieces I needed, is it just me or is Lidl getting quite expensive? They also didn't have some of the stuff I wanted, chillers were almost empty too.

Tonight going to finish what I want to get done in the kitchen, couple of laundry loads aswell. I will do a proper list later. I am expecting the kids to want feeding more later, did everyones tea early as DPs been needing his earlier because of work, think might have been too early for them.
One day I might be more organised...........

lil_me i think food is just getting more expensive everywhere. I really noticed it when doing my online order last night. DH reckons it should come down again with the recession. I also noticed that tesco didn't have quite a few things I usually buy - not pleased about that, because of course you end up paying for more expensive stuff. think we might try asda next time.

I noticed that Tesco have stopped stocking some of the Tesco Value stuff and got Discount Brand stuff instead which is dearer. What a con!

Dinner done, just Tomato soup with some frozen ones from the summer as it is Judo for 2 of them, don't like them to be too full, they can have toast when we get back.

Taking some of my hand sewing with me so if I'm waiting around (usually am) I can be productive.

Be back in a few hours.

rach I think you are right, I also said something similar to my partner about the recession and the fact fuel costs have come down again (what many were blaming cost increases on) I don't think I honestly have been looking as closely recently, because I have been just buying what we need and avoiding treats it's down to buying stuff out of necessity, when I am just buying what we need there isn't the choice factor involved so don't tend to look at the price. Bread has been coming back down, I have bought it recently and noticed the price was 30p for the lower end loaves instead of the 45p I think it was. I do prefer ASDA at the mo just due to what I buy tends to be cheaper items, they substitute with higher priced items and don't charge you, however through mysupermarket (via ipoints) Tesco was so much cheaper for what I needed last time (due to special offers) I used them.

Have talked to the police... had to give them my neighbour's mum's phone numbers as they didn't have them. She went into hospital this morning with an enlarged liver (she has liver problems due to her lifestyle...), so she obviously hasn't been sticking to her addiction programme (she's on one through the probation office). I'm away this weekend, so they've promised to keep an eye on my house for me!

Hope you all have a great weekend... probably won't log on much until Sunday as I'm off with my brother and mum to see my grandfather!

Caught up with about the last 10 pages.

Pigpen – what a horrible thing to do to you. DH could’ve stuck up for you. Hope you’re ok re DS3, have just got to that bit!

Soappie – sounds positive about the job, well done on the oven!

Greenbee – no rush on the stuff, whenever you have time!

Hope all those with poorlies/who are poorly feel better soon. Lot of it about, my mum went down with it today too. Just crossing everything as DH’s exams next week so we don’t want anything here!

  • Hi all,

well today didn't go how I wanted at all - started well, had a little rest before getting DS up (Yes Tag, he drives me mad - hubby is the same but will get up with a push - is it just all men in general?) but woke up with a manic headache that just wouldn't go, sort of like a migraine with feeling sick and everything, but I was OK with lights, so am never sure if it is a migraine or not??? APOLOGIES!

The MoneySavingExpert.com forums database has a minor glitch. This should rectify itself quite quickly. Usually waiting 30 seconds and refreshing will have it working fine. We are currently working on a long term solution that should make the forums more stable.
    Grrrr

    Greenbee have a lovely time!

Rach masks! Handwashing and cleaning failing that. We've only had DS2 ill here, I have been cleaning things like the loo, sink and bathroom door handles regular, making everyone wash their hands constantly etc and the rest of us haven't been ill so far. DS1s less affectionate than DS2, tends to not get close to children if he can help it and still a little over cautious with the handwashing especially when germs are mentioned, so does frequently manages to escape things.

    Flower ((hugs))

This evening I will try to be realistic, I've lost my ability to estimate how long things take, probably because things are less controlled then they were and there is more to do than I like to admit.....

Get spare duvet dry (leave downstairs for DP who needs to take someone to airport v.early in morning)
Finish the last bits of my kitchen list
Empty DW when finished and put dinner dishes in
    Vacuum kitchen
    Wash kitchen floor
Wash step between kitchen and utility
Put some of the clean laundry away (I don't think I will get it all done but will try hard)
Lok through Boots online, see if I can plug any present gaps

1500 Bonus Points With Boots This Weekend!!!! Greasypalm does cashback for there (Quidco stopped)
One day I might be more organised...........
