  • The recal was for the timing chain fitted from 2003 model onwards. Newshaoe 08 ones aint effected.

    Well that's worth knowing, thanks!

    So I'm guessing that could contribute to a camshaft snapping? And they should have rung to recall it or mentioned it at last service?

    1.2 Corsas have a chain. 1.4 engines have a belt. 1.4 engines generally cause the most problems with the plastic tensioners failing. 1.2 engines lead a hard life but need clean oil.

    Vauxhall contact the DVLA for owner details to then write to them to let them know about any recalls.

    You could phone up any Vauxhall dealer and ask em to check up on any outstanding recalls under your chassis number.

  • Vauxhall have set up a "Vauxhall Recall Helpline" to assist you in answering any queries about recalls that you might have. The Helpline number is 0118 9458500 and is open Monday to Friday 0900 to 1730 and Saturday 0900 to 1200.
