You have my sympathy ragtimeplayer- that is one of my fears and why I go round with one at a time, or two if I feel brave. However understandable it is that the sa couldn't believe it, she should stick to the rules on the token, one of each kind per transaction, which puts you in the clear. Don't feel guilty.
In the long run, although it may be a very long run, Boots should gain from this freebie. After all, maybe lots of people who buy the td stuff free get other things too, and maybe even go in for the first time in ages. Its their promotion after all- most of the tokens people pick up go straight into the bin usually IMO, so it is a bit rich for their staff to be iffy about it. And the td stuff is Boots own brand so costs them less- I bet it costs pennies to make.
  • Email or write a letter to either the store or customer services. You have done nothing wrong as the voucher clearly states one per transaction.

She did mention to me when I first showed her the vouchers ( and she was still in nice mode) that Boots had made a boo boo and the vouchers should have said one per person, not one per transaction. I find this hard to believe as they would have no way of enforcing it.

Not sure if I believe that. Someone will have poured over the proof for these leaflets before the print run to check that everything is as boots want it. When everything is ok...the printers will be told to rock and roll. Then of course the leaflets would have been checked once they had been printed before they reach the stores.

  • Ragtimeplayer I really feel for you - I had the same experience yesterday evening and I was really upset - the sales assistant made me feel like a real criminal. I'd say it had to be the same lady if it wasn't for the fact that there are absolutely no leaflets in my store (I heard some other sales assistants talking about the products they were buying with the leaflet so I think they are taking them all!!).

What made it worse was that I had managed to put the girls to bed early and have half an hour to myself to go late night shopping. I was really looking forward to it as I've never been able to do that before and then she ruined it completely. It would put me off going to Boots if it wasn't for all these wonderful bargains everybody keeps finding.

Hope you feel better and don't give up finding those freebies!

Surely if they were printed wrong boots would have removed the leaflets or at least put up notices, but then how would they Know which customers had got one and which hadn't. I also find this very hard to believe :rotfl:

Ragtimeplayer, please don't feel bad or guilty.
I work for boots(on leave at moment) and some assistants have made me feel the same way.I know i'm doing nothing wrong and not breaking any rules. The bottom line is that assistant and many others havent taken advantage of this offer 'cos they didnt know about it and feel left out.If i were you i'd get back out there and try again maybe with fewer vouchers and some other assistant.
    good luck

Had a right old dragon serving me in Chepstow today - informed me that she would put my seven TD items through separately today (as a favour!!), but in future it wouldn't be allowed. Also told me that because 'some people' {own up whoever it is!!} have taken more than one leaflet, all the orange leaflets had been withdrawn - of course, I had to go to two more Boots stores and pick up more leaflets just to prove her wrong. I feel another outing to Chepstow coming on.

My name is FF and I am addicted to going to boots everyday and buying TD stuff !! :rotfl:

Since hubby has been off this week we have been shopping oh let me think..erm every day :D and i have even got him to buy the TD stuff. I let him work his charm on the SA and so far he has no problems, getting 2 or 3 products in one go. These arent all for me though as i am going to be making up gift baskets for my mum & mum-in-law.

Got a load of gifts from the Grimsby store when they started their 75% sale so i think i have got just about all the birthdays/xmas covered :D . Going away for the weekend and thought i might pop into boots on the way but wondered if anyone had been to Leeds - White Rose Centre & Trafford Centre ?? i have a few vouchers so want to know if they have any TD stuff in especially Toner ? and are the SA nice or little hitler's ? the sa around here have been lovely and loads of leaflets around.

White Rose has a fair selection of the stuff in but do not stock DR at all. The assistants I've been served by are all fine, but I didn't push it too far.

I might do when I am feeling a bit braver Zoe but at the minute I am paranoid about going back in and being on some kind of wanted poster!!! :rotfl:

I can just imagine them having "caught" me on cctv and keeping a look out for me next time I venture forth.

Think I will have to wear a disguise! :D

Here's what I think...I think that's it's asking for trouble really to try and get more than one item each time you go to the till, especially if there's a queue. I know we're not breaking any rules but better to be a bit discreet, line up and get one item then go to another till and get another, especially if people are going in every day. I can only get to my Boots once a week but managed to get some wipes at the prescriptions counter and eye stuff for 50p at the main till yesterday. Will try and get another couple next week but there was no hand cream which is what I really wanted. If we all calm down and get a few bits at a time there will be less hassle and more to go round! I got another 6 leaflets though! Haven't seen any candles worse luck.
