Thriftlady this is probably a daft question, but what do you put in your jumbleberry jam? It sounds great!
Whatever happens to be in the freezer. In this case it was raspberries, blackberries, red currants, white currants and gooseberries. Blackcurrants are good too but I'd used all mine up.

Have a berry happy birthday Scuzz:D

I cant believe it think I will stay with Aldi for the time being,

sistercas - 33p? Argh, I nearly fell over when they went from 19p to 26p! Gonna have to have a check of where they're cheapest now! Can't believe I'll need to shop around for tinned toms!

    edit:

mysupermarket.com is showing them at 26p in sainbugs and Mr A's, got some unheard of brand at 28p in Mr T's, never seen them in our one though! And flippin tom puree has gone up again, little tins are 25p now, were 17p last week! This is getting silly!

thriftlady thanks for the pitta pizza recipe. I have some mini pittas in the freezer , i will get them out ready for tomorrows lunch my DD's will love them:D
Diva going to make some dough balls to go with the pitta pizza

one thing i have learned since being on this thread is not to throw food away but to freeze it and use it later. maybe I should label the numerous bags of frozen products as I made a homemade garlic bread pizza, using leftover dough. turned out to be leftover sweet pastry:rotfl: kids ate it without complaint- :D
  • Still low today, but...

Have dyed the bath mats. Still haven't had the courage to take them out of the washing machine. You could never believe what terracotta dye looks like in a washing machine.

    Casserole in slow cooker

Breadmaker on and finishing. What does a concave top mean? In relation to a home made loaf, of course. This is the second one running. The last one seemed risen enough, but hollow headed. I suppose I have going to have to do something only done in extreme circumstances - consult the manual.

I have concluded that eating breakfast may reduce some of my dizzy spells. This was not so successful this morning. Little bear ate all my breakfast as well as his. I am considering my options.

Dear heart is taking little bear and myself out tomorrow, and we may get to feed some ducks. I just hope the weather is suitable.

Hugs to all on here. I am sure if I made a list I would miss someone out and mortally offend them, and I do not want to do that. So just hugs and plenty of them!

My kitchen does not look very neat at the moment. It looks like a dreadful warning, so I am off to do something about it.

:eek::eek: At least little bear hasn't reached that stage yet - but I am confident he will in time!

  • Hi all
Thanks for your support earlier with starting to *cook*.

    We've had - spag bol - v nice
Pie - chicken and veg, using the leftovers from an m&s deal chicken
Veg stew - then a second meal reheated with dumplings :A
Another sort of spag dish - was lovely

Curry. I used "Nan's recipe" sorry can't remember whose Nan. I was working in the afternoon so made the base, and then emailed OH instructions about cooking 2/3 with chicken and mush, and the other 1/3 with leek and mush (veggie option), simmer 20mins etc when he got home from work.
I went to work and came back to find the base... on rice with a sprig of coriander!!!!! He didn't get my email, so served it as it was. Which was - not cooked - and nothing of any substance in it, just sauce with onions.
He said 'well who was I to argue, onion curry - how nice'.:rotfl:

DS said the sauce was lovely. What do you say to that???

Sadly the coriander was for soup that I'm making tomorrow morning.

Apart from that, its all going well. I'm about to try home made oven chips.

    Cheers

  • Afternoon all

Sorry I haven't been around much, just so busy and have had a hacking cough I just can't get rid of. Work is also hell at the moment, so i feel very tired and unmotivated at the mo, would like to get back on track soon.

Hugs to all those who need one.

Congratulations to all those with things to celebrate:beer: . Catowen have you thought of writing your Nan's memories down for posterity. Something I always wished I'd done with my Granny who was born in 1888 and died when she was 98.

Sausage, mash and veg for tea tonight. hope to pop in tomorrow, am off the weekend:j .

    Have a good evening all.

    Jan :A xxxx
