I know this is OT but wanted to say that if your child has a temperature and you put socks on their feet at bed time it can trigger night terrors in some children which are very very scary (we nearly called an ambulance the first time - thought my DS was having a fit). The way to cope with them is to wash the feet with a cool flannel if you can. Hope your daughter is much better soon Rusty it's terrible when they are ill.
  • Hi all-
just been catching up on all these posts, ive been slacking on my hamper preperation of late so really need to start being more organised! Hopefully by next christmas ill be properly prepared lol... But well done everyone else all your hampers look lovely!! :T :T

Saw some lovely large hamper baskets in home bargains- £2.50 but were huge and would do for foodie hampers or if you have lots of stuff to put in a hamper (think im going to go back and pick some up tommorrow!)- they were a lovely red wicker too :j

    Hope your all well ;)

:jTrying to save as much as i can :T

No, he'd love one - and so would Gareth! It just sounds messy - but that's cos I'm a "no added extras in my hotchoc" kinda gal!!
Was going to try making them too - just wanted to give people the right instructions.

Does any one know what i can get my mum for her hamper

She loves smellies but always gets loads for xmas anyways..
She loves chocolate but again gets loads from other people..
She loves jewlerry but dad always buys her that..

She was born in 59 so i would love to get her things from her childhood.. or around her teens.. music she has already got so that idea is out the window..

    Thanks in advanced.

Hi well all my hampers have been finished but I felt a bit guilty as my dad knows what he is getting. So I am making him a secret hamper so that he has something to open on Xmas day. My mum and gran know that they are getting hampers but they do not know whats in them lol.

Okay, here goes - my first attempt at a hamper, which is for a baby shower this evening for one of the girls in my team at work and it's from the rest of us in the team (4 people). It's not brilliant perhaps, but I'm quite pleased with it for a first attempt.

Had a bit of difficulty getting the cellophane but found a helpful florist eventually who was willing to sell it (as she said, it's something they can make an extra bit of profit from - which is why I was puzzled that the first two I visited refused). I've also had difficulty getting ribbon because it's all Christmassy stuff around at the moment. But that's what you get for leaving it until the last minute!

And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end
