  • I am so impressed with all your ideas and beautiful hampers so I thought I would have a go at one myself.

I am trying to cut down on how much I spend this Christmas so I thought I might do a movie night hamper for my sister-in-law and her family (2 adults and 3 children aged from 5 to 12).

I have already bought a nice family DVD (Alvin & the Chipmunks) and will get some popcorn, sweets, bottle of fizz and crisps.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else I can put in the hamper?

    Many thanks

Masquerade what about a fleece blanket so they can all cuddle under it, a family board game for after the movie? A few bottles of beer for the adults?

For the lady who wanted ideas for a walking hamper....How abot a nice scarf and glove set for when shes out and about? Pack of posh biscuits & a minature sherry/brandy. Guide to...whatever area you live and your mum likes to walk

Wow again some very lovely hamper ideas here, I think I may be tracking down bargins and storing them to make more lol.

I had some bits togher for my mums but she is expecting loads of chocolate grrrr I only have a bit for her. So looks like I am going to need to get some more, I was thinking of getting an empty jar and placing a cig inside and gluing the lid on, like an emergency jar.

Thanks again for all the lovely ideas they have already saved me a lot of money this year.
 Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.

    Hi everyone!
I haven't visited this thread for a very long time (was the original poster on the basket pictures thread part 1).
It is wonderful to see it still going strong.

Your baskets are absolutely wonderful and it is also great to see such a happy, welcoming thread (with no arguments!)
    :T :T :T
Unfortunately I'm not making baskets this year as I have made them two years running and the idea is no longer a novelty to my family!
I only have one relation that I am making something up for and she is a diabetic (healthy eating) and also a VERY busy gran.So I am making something with a health/relaxing theme.
So far I have got some nut, dried fruit, seeds and flavoured t-bags and a face pack.(strict budget)
Has anybody got any ideas what else I can put in it?
ALSO I don't want to put it in a basket (did that last year) so I need some suggestions??

    Thanks again;) and WELL DONE!!!!!!!!
    ;) Newbie Comper ;)
Wins so far-crunchie bar, Friends DVD set,
Clynol shampoo + cond, LUSH Christmas set

How about a re-usable shopping bag? Tesco have the Cath Kidson ones at the moment which are nice, or just M & S have some nice linen ones? Useful as well as you can never have too many shopping bags (IMHO)!

How about adding a nice hand cream? Poundland had some nice ones a while ago.

    Hi All,
    Hope everyone is well,

I found these Set of 5 Coloured Lidded Baskets (Blue or Pink) on the hotukdeals site and they are reduced on the Tesco direct website they were £30.00 and they've been reduced to £7.49 Number for pink baskets 100-5631 and blue baskets 100-4568.
I thought these would be good for the hampers.

kaja86 - this is my first year for doing baskets and I've been loving it.
Some of my family live away so a basket isn't practical but I've decorated shoe boxes (free from local shoe shop) and arranged things nicely in them., tied with a ribbon I think they look ok.

If anyone wants some non Christmas cello - this seller has had some good priced ones. I got some lovely pink and purple flowered cello BOGOF so 10 metres for £3.45 inc postage, looks like she doesn't have any of this design left but she has others like this She has various colours. I bought some curling ribbon from here - came very quick and a good price.

    Hope this helps someone.

  • Feel like having a moan. We ran out of cello  needed it for Thursday so couldn't risk ordering from eBay. My friend got some from florist and was charged £1 a metre:eek: .Will make sure not to run out again !!
