  • Hiya

Just a wee quick update for you about my first hamper attempt for mother in law - she loved it! God, I am so relieved - was panicking for a bit incase it wasn't 'her thing'. So, it's back to the bargain hunting now for all the other hampers i'm hoping do to for christmas.

Cocktailsavings - what a brilliant idea! I would have loved that when I moved house.

Thanks everyone - without you all I wouldn't have done it!!!

That's fab news! My first hamper will be for my parents so they'll tell me they like it anyway (you know what parents are like) but I am a bit worried other people wont like them!

Tell me, have any of you ever had anyone who really didn't appreciate it or like it?

I finally bought some cellophane too today (from Ebay) - only 5 metres because I'm not really sure how much I'll need for these and I don't want loads and then not use it. I bought clear with white dots - I thought it was more interesting than no pattern but this will (hopefully) look good with any!

  • Hi JaneLiz

I though the same about mother in law - worried in case she was just being nice - but i genuinely think she was really pleased - she certainly talked about it enough! :D Lets hope its the same for the next one........

I haven't advanced to buying rolls of cellophane yet - I got hold of 2 metres from our local florist (as it was an emergency on Friday) and I used probably half of it for the hamper. It was just clear but if I had have had a choice I would have got the stuff with dots on it too!

Thanks Sunshine - that's very helpful, hopefully I'll have enough cello for a few baskets then :)

I have quite a lot of samples which are small packets in this basket and couldn't think of a nice way to display them so I've popped them in a little cello bag instead and will put a label on it.

  • funnily enough, i am having the same dilemma with my mum's gardening hamper - little packets of seeds that I think will just get lost in amongst everything else- so thank you, will do the same!
