Ok, I've put these together this morning for my boys for Xmas. The items have been collected over several months...

    Thomas' Crafting Box -

    IMGP2507.jpg

Contains: loads of playdoh bits and bobs (all bought on offer mostly from Sainsbury's); Crayola felt tips; Disney finger paints; In The Night Garden crayons; crayon cakes (I made these from old bits of crayon); Dora Aqua Draw Mats (Tesco on offer); a string with pegs on to display all the creations he'll make (about £1.50 I think); Noddy colouring set in a case (Poundland); Postman Pat coluring book (Poundland); Dora sticker book and colouring book (Poundland)

DVD box for the two of them to share -

    IMGP2508.jpg

Contains: big blue plastic bowl for popcorn (Asda 65p); popcorn cardboard boxes (ebay about £2.50 I think?); fruit smoothie drinks (Tesco); microwave popcorn (BOGOF from Tesco); 12 DVDs - 7 for £10, 4 x £1 from Nestle/Play.com deal and 1 x £7.99.

Book baskets, one for each -

    IMGP2509.jpg

Contain: a whole raft of books I've bought on offer over about 4 months - too many to mention individually!

Jack's Baking Bowl of Goodies -

    IMGP2510.jpg

    IMGP2511.jpg

Contains: All Supercook pots, cases and icing bought in sale very cheaply; Mummy's Little Helper Apron (Wilkos £1.99); wooden spoon (had already); cookie cutters (Wilkos, part of a set); bowl (Wilkos about 65p).

    Thomas' Music Stuff -

    IMGP2514.jpg

    IMGP2515.jpg

Contains: recorder (Tesco £1); tin drum (Home Bargains £3.99); other bits from Asda.

My head is a bit clearer now as I've finally managed to sort out the mess that all this stuff was in (one book in one drawer, 3 in a cupboard, 4 in the garage etc...) and group things together into presents, phew :D I'm going to leave the presents that aren't wrapped, unwrapped. I think they look ok as they are.

I love the music one, well done, you come up with some great ideas.

Wow Rainmac - you've worked hard to get them all done at once. I still need to do that with mine. However I am planning a Harry potter hamper for my DS with chcolate snake eggs in and all sorts but will need to wait until nearer the time... I've really had fun with it. In morrisons after halloween I picked up a spider leg candle holder with a big green eye for 50p that I'm planning to include! I want to finish my nephew's hamper but I've lost one of his presents - it may have fallen down the back or side of the bed in the spare room! I'll be gutted if I can't find it...

I've put this together for my brother's 30th birthday (not till January but I was on a bit of a roll with the sorting out so thought I'd do this one too ;))...

    IMGP2513.jpg

    IMGP2512.jpg

    Contains:
beer bucket - Home Bargains £2.99.
4 bottles lager - nicked from OH stash.
ball of life - approx 75p.
30th birthday survival kit in a jar - cost pence to make, jar from Julian Graves about 60p I think.
sweetie jar - kilner jar from Ikea £1.99, sweets were few quid.
pack of playing cards with things written on that you should do before you're 30 (ebay about £3.00 inc. postage).
folder of useless information collated by me using the internet, the folder was about £1 from Wilkos.

The folder I've put together and includes: front page of newspaper personalised with my brother's name, age, town where he lives etc - free from http://www.inthepaper.co.uk/; first name origin and meaning; key events of 1979; key events of his birthday through history; key world events during his life so far; 30 facts he may not know (things about himself mainly such as time he was born, day of the week, birthstone, his favourite sweets when he was little, how much things cost in 1979...); what Wikipedia says about his hometown where we grew up; top 10 songs of 1979; a list of 30 things to do by the time you're 30; a list of 30 symptoms of being 30+; a list of 30 things you don't want to hear during an operation; a list of 30 fun things to do whilst driving (he drives a lot for work); information about his star sign and chinese sign. I've really enjoyed finding all the information and compiling it together (has taken a long time), I just hope he likes it :p

I haven't wrapped it yet as I need to find a couple of marbles to pop into the survival jar - we've got some in the house somewhere but can't find them

rainmac - Your hampers are brilliant, my two boys would be over the moon if i did something like that - hmm do I have enough time lol

Can I ask where the baskets are from with the books in? Are they chalkboards on the front?

    Thanks

Thanks soblivion, I hadn't thought of it like that but you're right, lots to keep them busy :D. I wanted to buy presents that went together and had a purpose rather than one of this and one of that. I also wanted things that I remember getting when I was young - trying to cut down on the amount of plastic rubbish that costs a fortune and lasts 5 minutes! I've also bought a few puzzles and things for their stockings and DS1 is getting a Leapster and a couple of games ( and Lego sets from the Mirror if they come in time!) and DS2 has got a kitchen from Mothercare.

This is definitely the most organised I've ever been at Xmas and I have thoroughly enjoyed taking the time to plan what I'm going to buy. I've spent wisley and I'm happy with what I've bought.

Need to sort out stocking presents - they are in the house but not sure where? and OH pressies - again, hidden around the house so need to go searching again ;)

Thank you :D They're great aren't they. I think Rusty got them first and then we've all been stampeding down to Matalan to grab ourselves some. They are chalkboards on the front and are £3 each.

I'm sure I've lost a book for DS2, I'm sure/hoping it will turn up at some point! I hope you find your lost present in time!!!
