Rusty that's such a lovely hamper well done!

I made my first ever visit to Hobby Craft today (it's an hour and half away from where I live,) OMG I could have stayed there all day!!
Also found a Home Bargains on my way home and they had the lovely boxes Rainmac picked up.

    Hi,

Not sure if it fits in this thread but couldn't find a suitable thread I could add to. i've spotted bargains suitable for Haloween.

In M&S I got really nice Haloween Pumpkin bags in a felt material for 10p each. Most still had the £1 sticker on them and did scan at £1. However I did get the same bag in a Surrey store for 50p each so I think it depends on what your local M&S decide to reduce it to. Original price was £2.50 so £1 was still a decent price for a good quality bag.

Also baby/toddler/child sizes Xmas gift thick black socks with a small glow in the dark skull pic on the sole reduced to 25p each. Again alot were still stickered at 50p and scanned at 50p. Original price was £3. I did see some of these socks in a Surrey branch priced at 50p (although might have been reduced further now?). Not very Christmasy socks at all and only realised they were from X'mas because of the tag.
    Tesco points: 101 (£21.50, £19.50, £7.50, £21 & £5)
    Boots points: £0.28
    Pigsback points: 715 (4 xBoots£10 & 1 xPizzaHut£10, 2 x £10 clothing vouchers)
    Mutual points: 3417 (redeemed 8250)

  • Just a few ideas that may help someone!
Superdrug have kiddies paddling pools 49p and lilos 49p - I got DD a lilo for her summer holiday :)
They also had loads of 10p goodies (some of which had been 49/99p last week?)
British Heart Foundation have 5 sheets of white/off white tissue paper for 19p (was 69p) and gift bags from 29p upwards (well over half price and it still benefits the charity)

    HTH someone! :p

Hi Just an Idea for people on here who will be doing a christmas hamper for young children. On hukd in the nonsence section there is a link to get a free personilised christmas book, you can either listen to it now, not sure if you can save it and burn it to disc, but you can print it out and make your own book up.. Sorry not sure how I do a direct link to the deal.

I forgot to say I've seen in a couple of different M&S, plain mugs (in cream or blue) reduced to 25p each. None left in my local store now but would be quite good for putting in a few sachets of hot chocolate inside and perhaps wrapping in selophane.

Today I brought a pinkish colour mug today with at least two skincare items inside (purple tubes) wrapped in selophane. It had a £1 clearance sticker on it. It's the first time I have seen it so I have no idea how much it is normally. Perhaps worth looking out for at that price?

I also got a random strawberry shape soap in Boots clearance section for 50p which I thought was ideal for putting on top of a flannel muffin.

In Superdrugs there might be some items worth getting in your local store. I've been to 5 different ones and although there is alot of cheap looking tat there were some decent bargains to be had. I'll list the items off the top of my head I have brought so far which might give others ideas.

Pack of 2 pairs of ladies socks 49p (decent quality)

Pacl of 2 pairs of boys socks 49p (decent quality)

1 x pair of socks in black with silver stars 10p (decent quality)

several different 10p items - mini purse with sequins and beads, bead rings, bead necklaces, bead bracelets and a set containing shiny crystal colour beads held with thin bendy silver wire - necklace and bracelet. Some did come up at 49p but staff were kind enought to override them to 10p. I wasn't going to stretch to 49p as I'm keeping them to cut up for card making. The bead jewelery (and mini purse) I picked had very pretty beads although there were some poorer quality and dull beaded jewelery too imo.

Disney branded bib 10p, teether 10p and spoon & toothbrush set 10p

I x pair of mens Homer Simpson boxer shorts 10p

1 x pair of bubblegum brand 'No1 dad' boxer shorts 49p

With the exception of the jewelery and boys socks I was only able to find 1 of all the other items I brought so again it might be the same in your local store.

Gorgeous hamper Rusty, very expensive looking too!

NZK83 - fab variety of hampers and other goodies, you must have been very busy in the run up to Xmas. As for the 40th birthday hamper, I think a journal jar is a fab idea. Have you seen this site... http://organizedchristmas.com/adult-journal-jar.
Also how about naming a star... http://www.freenameastar.com/register.php
Creating a 'book' of dates/event/things that relate of the person - you could include things like: star sign info, events that happened the day and year of birth, top ten records, prices of items the year she was born (such as a house, pint of milk)... I made one for my brother's 30th, I gave it to him at the weekend and he loved it!
 If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain

  • So I have all the bits and pieces to go with wine for my Dad's birthday (opener, stopper, cooler, airer) and I now have a tesco hamper that seems like the perfect size for it. I now have only one problem, how the heck do I get it to him without having to handdeliver it, it will weigh a ton :)
Still up for any more ideas of what to add to make it look a little less 'hard'
