Will have a nosey about and see if I can find some for you!

agatha - if you can't find what you're looking for this might be of some use. You can download it and put it in some kind of book form

I'm doing a gardening hamper for a birthday in March and looking for some miniature gardening tools -the sort you can get for indoor plants....I'm putting some seeds in the hamper and the miniature tools are ideal - got some myself years ago.
    Can't seem to find any

Love that garden journal mary, thanks for sharing.

Will have a look for small tools. Did see sets of tools for children in Poundland at the weekend. Think it was 3 tools for £1 in bright colours - yello, blue and pink I think?

Thank you Mary, I'll take a look at that now. I'll keep my eyes peeled for the mini tools for you.

rainmac - think I know the sort you mean but I don't want bright colours if I can help it. The ones I've got have got thin handles (bit thicker than a pencil) with a shovel at the end if you know what I mean.

Still haven't done anything about making the plant labels...........our craft shop hasn't got anything -looked on various sites and there seem to be a lot of chipboard ones but not sure how they'd be in the weather

I made a gardening hamper for the inlaws last year (it's on this thread somewhere!) I collected lots of bits and pieces over several months and found some really good bits. i bought a load of seeds but have never found them still!!! I managed to find some small tools in tescos but they are a seasonal item and prob not in stock anymore! Also I put all the bits into a window box type planter which means the 'hamper' is part of the gardening theme!!
  • I have been scouring everywhere for the winnie the pooh facemitts, and today for the first time found one in town but it was £2.99  think I will keep scouring pound shops etc :)

    Hi Rusty

    Hello ladies,

I was thinking of making a gardening hamper for my mums birthday. Was going to add
gardening gloves, trowel & fork set, packets of seeds, garden twine, slate plant stakes, a mug with some shortbread and handcream.

I would like to make up/add a nice book for her - a planting journal so that she can make a note of the plants for the year etc. Can one buy this type of journal or is this a diy thing? Any tips or ideas very much appreciated.

Hi Aggie - Tescos had a gardening journal - I bought one in the sale - think it was 99p - might even have been less - not sure if they still have them though! Sainsburys also had some before crimbo - to be honest I mainly bought it as a 'template' so that when I do gardening hampers in future I can copy it. Proper price was about £5 which totally not worth that cos it was literally a small ringbinder (kind of half of A5 size) with a few dividers and notepaper - I think the link further down is really good and prob better to do your own unless you can find one mega cheap in sales. Well I braved a good rummage in superdrug to get another little gift for my grans hamper. I managed to get her some spa bath lights for 99p and I bought her some nice bubble bath for 99p.

I managed to get a nice basket in £stretcher's as well.

Just a head's up about the £stretchers baskets, there is no date as yet to when these will go up in price. My dad thinks though that they could be still on for a few weeks yet but I would get there when you can as the best ones get snapped up quickly.

Made this for my Niece's 18th, Pandora charm was not exactly a bargain but the bubbly was £2.50, candle £1 and the glass £1.99:

This was my best friends: Leave in conditioner was about £11, the rest was from pinkies and three for 2 gifts:

Your basket is beautiful... I am very impressed. Do you mind me asking how you make the 'rose' type bow please?
