I bought some of this chocolate from Tesco today. it's on half price at the minute - about 60p. It's one of their bargain ranges. Inside there are 5 bars wrapped in gold and look quite posh and would look lovely in a hot choc mug or food hamper.

Any ideas how I can do the poem and get a bag to put normal tea/ tea bags in and also what else could I include, saw a heated teddy at b&M and thought could do a label saying a nice warm hug from me and also a book or something

What about one of these little teapot shapes that you put your used teabag on? About a £1 in tesco. Or one of those tea for one pots that is a little teapot that fits inside the cup. Hope you know what I mean! I think HomeBargains had some nice tea sets in as well.

    NATBAG,
thought of the loft but was worried it might be cold or dampish up there and didnt want to spoil my hard work.
Have to say ladies just shown my 13yr DD all the posts here and snowman soup and now she wants to join in and go to tesco NOW !(lol) start them young i say lol x x julie x x

Cold yes, but that doesn't matter for smellies and chocolates. Don't think ours is damp but once they have been cello wrapped they'll be fine. Everything else is wrapped tight in bin bags so it should be ok for a few weeks. :)

Here is a little poem i send to my friends with a teabag in a card throughout the year - maybe you can adapt it:

    Although the miles divide us,
    It's easier to be,
    Together in our thinking,
As we make a cup of tea,
So lets both put the kettle on,
    And make ourselves a brew,
And while you drink and think of me,
I'll drink and think of you! x

Does your hamper brain never switch off? Sounds like a fab idea to me!!! Nestle cereals with the Play.com offer are still in Tesco for definite as I've bought 4 boxes of various stuff this week and ordered 4 DVDs for my two :D. In Tesco coco mini shreddies were reduced to £1 a box (from £1.97). I also bought a copy of the Jungle Book on DVD as I haven't seen it for years and used to love it - this was £7.99 though - going in the boys movie box too, hope they like it as much as me so we can watch it lots over Xmas ;)

Nooooo we can't possibly have the hamper side of my brain switching off lol ... every other bit can though!
Thanks for the heads up RE: tescos! Will get down there tomorrow hopefully I can grab a couple :)

OH has actuallky agreed it is a good idea  and said if I can't get to nestle dvds then to get a couple of vouchers for blockbusters then they can choose what they want :)

Kandi - thanks for the poem. Ideal for my younger son - he lives in Sussex so we don't see each other much and I always get him some tea of some description for Christmas and birthdays.:j

apologies if this has already been posted but there's so many posts to go through & can't find it after a search :)

Morrisons have their strong poly 25p & 35p reusable bags in a Christmas design - ideal to put in finished presents, and the bag can be part of the pressie too :)

They've been designed by an 8 year old boy and really lovely - if I were his parents, everyone in the family would be getting their presents in them :D

Thanks all for your lovely suggestions for my Mum.
She already has a patchwork throw and a two nice blankets, most other people buy her smellies as they're always a bit stuck what to get.
The scrapbook idea came up around her birthday but she wouldn't be able to turn the pages or anything like that.
She loved the photo of her and her brother when they were small as it was the only one around of them together so that stands next to my Dads photo next to her tele in the bedroom.
Although she was out of bed for couple of hours the other week there's no guarantee that this will continue so I'm trying to concentrate on something that will fit in her bedroom and lack of space means I'm stuck.
She does have a bed jacket but I'd like to get her one that she can pop on if and when she does sit in her chair that looks less like a bed jacket if you know what I mean.
I've seen them, just can't think where.
Once again, many thanks...........its a hard one.

How about a pure silk pillowcase?
I bought one for my father when he had a stroke and his carers said it made a real difference to his comfort.
    How is your mothers hearing?
would a tiny traditional music box be O.K? I know she could not wind it herself but her carers could wind it before they leave the room or failing that how about an old fashioned rag doll? to remind her of her childhood (no matter how old we are we all still love our dollies don't we?)
I do hope you find something special for your Mums gift,I know his time of year is difficult as it brings back memories of how things used to be.
