rusty - so pleased your OH is being so positive and getting CV done - many would have spent at least a week moping about it and who could blame them really. Good luck to him.:j

By the way, looking at your valentines contents I spotted a bar of choccy I've got - a Cranberry and Granola bar of chocolate -had it as a freebie - if anyone wants it let me know. OH doesnt eat choccy and don't think I'll eat it.

Are you kidding? It is gorgeous! It is the best choccy bar that Cadbury have ever invented.
I usually stay away from anything that contains ingredients that may be healthy for you (The Granola) but I just adore this and have to limit myself to 1 a week :p

Thanks - popped to Tescos but no luck!!! Boo-Hoo!! I'm happy to pay postage but whats the best way to pay you? It would be ever so kind of you to do that for me I have to say! If I can work out how to PM you I'll do so and give you my address - always assuming they haven't run out too!!! I just know my hubby would LOVE it!!

Have been out today and got a few bits for his Valentine hamper, so far got the following...
    Strawberry haribos
    Maltesers Thick shake
    Cherry TicTacs
Berries & Cherries (think he needs healthy snack after crimbo indulgences!) in lovely red foil bag
Choc chip cookies in red packaging
    2 packets of Lovehearts
    Deodorant - in red metallic
a heart shaped cookie cutter for me to make cookies!

thats it so far but feeling quite pleased plus feeling really smug as I managed to get my nieces birthday pressies both for about £4 and theres enough stuff to fill hampers!! I think RRP was prob about £15 each so well chuffed - I know their birthdays aren't til Sept & Dec and my OH will think I've gone mad but I'm addicted now...!!! Gotta grab the bargains when you see 'em!!! LOL!

Oooh I might have to add some of your goodies to my hamper ... sounds good so far! can't wait to see it finished. I will nip back to nettos tomorrow and try and get some, it was only £1.99 if I manage to get some I will pm you and ask for your address etc :)

Thankyou Mary, since I last posted he has had 4 or 5 agents on the phone so it is sounding good and he reckons he should be able to pull something together by fri/monday  so fingers crossed.

I love the cranberry and granola, I noticed in home bargains they had them for 19p a bar ... I was tempted but didn't give in ... I have to admit it is one of the nicer ones in my opinion ;) you should try it mary :)

Just wanted to say good luck for your hubby Rusty it can be a bit of a worry but sounds like he has a great plan and things are beginning to work out.

I'm really impressed that he didn't either go off to the pub to drown his sorrows or come home and collapse in a heap and mope around for days. (My hubby was made redundant many years ago and he came home and lay on the floor with his head in his hands!!!)

I think this is why it came as such as a shock as my ex partner (my sons dad) was made redundant the day I came out of hospital after having my son (he was 2 days old!!!) he sat and moped around and did very little to help or even find a job ... after 10 months I had enough and walked out with my son :o he was out of a job for 4 years, and even now he struggles to stay in a job but then he is a complete waster anyway!

    Rusty

Sorry to hear of OHs job. Good luck with the agencies. Love the idea of the basket, this would be ideal if DH and I did anything for Valentines. As it is, we do things through the year and so only swap a card on the day.
I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.
  • Sorry to hear about OH's job, Rusty.
  • sorry to hear about your OH Rusty, glad to see he is being positive though!
