Would it be mean to put my grans hamper in a card box, I could cover it with something. Then put a material trim around the top with some lace.

Not at all - I did this with a couple at xmas and am going to do it with some more - unfortunately it means we have cardboard city in the corner of the lounge but I tell OH its modern art :rotfl:.

You could cover it with some cheap wrapping paper or even a spare curtain or odd bit of fabric if you have any laying about - just given myself an idea for the curtains I dug up in the spare room this afternoon :D
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

lol Paddington at least you have a use for those curtains. I have some spare material I got it quite cheap on Ebay as an end of line thing. I was going to use it to make DD a dress but I am no dress maker at all. Small cushions and sock monkeys seem to be my things at the mo so I might as well put the material some good use.
 Wins in 09 = A vodka cocktail kit thing lol, £150 Amazon voucher.

  • Okay peeps, had another inspiration when I was in Mr T's

Quite a few things from the CellarDine wine range very reduced
(including Electronic Wine Breather- £1.50 RRP £11.95
    Champagne/fizzy wine sealer- £0.80
    Pourer- £0.60
    Chiller- £1.20)

I think I am going to make my Dad a wine hamper for his birthday, apart from those 4 items which I have now and a couple of bottles of wine what else can I include?
    Thanks in advance :)

Well I have never done any money neutral stuff before but will give it a go!! thanks to all the tips from everyone!

But we are always chatting about lots of other things eg saving coins in a can then all opening it on Oct 10th (I think!) and we talk about Christmas and crafting and on 25th of each month we're gonna have a Rudolph Day where we discuss our plans for Christmas and ideas/crafts/what we have done are doing and share ideas etc etc.

So come over lurk, join in whatever!! All welcome!;)

Hey! Hope things are good with you too. I think this hamper thing may have become a habit/obsession with some of us (ahem, me) and I think it is an idea that will be used all year round, admittedly not as often as at Christmas, hope everyone else is going to hang out too to keep giving me ideas to use (steal and pass off as my own ;))
