I bought myself a pink smartcafe mug (like a cafetiere & mug in one) just before christmas and yesterday my DH mentioned something like that would be good for him to use at work. I had a look online today and the cheapest one I found was on Amazon and it's red. Thought I'd start with this and create a little valentines hamper for him. Will add some coffee, biscuits and a sweet Edward Monkton book on Love. Does anyone know where I can get fruit shrewsbury biscuits? Can't recall seeing them in Tesco, but ours is only a small store anyway.
I know what you mean about obsession, Sian...LOL!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Sorry I have edited your post .....
Is this your first child? you could add things to daddys like
couple of disposable nappies, instructions on how to change a nappy, a peg for his nose, a mask for his face, some hand wash or some of that gel which sterilizes your hands without having to use water, a miniature whisky to help make him sleep through those sleepless nights, some new PJ's for when the baby is sick all over him? disposable changing mat?
As for grandparents you could put together a small caddy of things they will need for babysitting ... a bit like the johnsons boxes you can get but with various things in, i.e small bottle of talc, some calpol, some teething gel, a couple of nappies, some wipes, some baby shampoo, baby wash, some hand cleaner (same as above) disposable nappy mat, some nappy rash cream. A couple of bibs? a spare bottle ? some sterilising tablets/milton?
Not brilliant ideas, but more practical ideas. May be no use to you at all but just a suggestion and I hope your little one arrives safelyRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
I am starting to struggle, I have most of the items for my OH's top gear hamper ...just waiting on the arrival of 1 mug and I have to order a personalised posted.
However I haven't made the cool wall and I am really struggling as OH is obviously not at work due to being laid off meaning I have no time or space on my own to get this sorted ..... any suggestions on how to get rid of my OH?Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -

b xYou've just reminded me that I will quite probably be passing through Shrewsbury at the start of Feb! Duh...silly me! My friend and I are having a mini trip and visiting Bicester outlet village & the QVC outlet in Shrewsbury (time permitting!) on the way to Warrington for an overnight stay and more shopping. Didn't link up the whole Shrewsbury=Fruit Shrewsbury biscuits... To be fair, I've had a long week...went away on Sunday and came home Tuesday to find that someone had tried to break in! So this week I've been having visits from the police, forensics(!) and the safer neighbourhood team, as well as having people come and measure up the door for insurance. I'm tired...
PS-Would attempt baking them, except I messed up the Dalek cookies yesterday, and they were from a packet mix! Add water, roll out, cut shapes, cook...and they were rock hard! Still ate them though.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Many thanks for the suggestions Rusty:j i don`t want to spend too much so will make a list and and work out prices first ! I tried to get a stig mug at Christmas only to have the order cancelled !. Can you get him to buy something you forgotten off the shopping ?? to give you an hour free.
big HUGS!!!! Ruth-Honey about your horrid week it does shake you up when things like that happen. Sounds a pretty extensive shopping trip i didn`t even know QVC had a shopping outlet near me .
I can`t walk well ,waddle that far atm even though I would love to go sales shopping not been yet apart from a quick whizz around.
I should really freeze my credit card atm the moment as I`d be very tempted..lol

Ruth - Oh no that must be awful, hope they get things sorted for you and fast!
Brookeslay, I could have done but he would just say oh don't worry we will go do it tomorrow or something silly ... plus it wouldn't take him long, I thought I had my chance tonight as he normally goes out on a fri to a local pub with his mates for a couple of hours, he hasn't been out for about 6 weeks now due to christmas etc but said he was going to go out tonight, then my FIL called and has asked me to cover a shift ..., I start at 6 and won't be home til midnight so no can do there either ... I will have to try get rid of him one day next week, tell him to take our little girl out somewhere or something ...Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Paddington - have you found a pink hamper box yet? I bought a pink canvas box with white spots on from Au Natrale for £2.50 this week if you have one near you? Also, they had some of the mugs with spoons through the handles for £1...think someone was asking about them?
Just started on my next hamper...my best friend is getting married in August and thought I would do her and hubby a little treat basket...so far have got;
2 books - Donts for husbands and Donts for wives (£2.03 each, whsmiths)
Travel journal, travel wallet (will put some money in) and luggage tags (approx £10, paperchase sale)
mini sparklers (£1, whsmith)
bath confetti (lying around the house)
dove and heart table confetti to sprinkle over everything (25p, Woolies RIP)
Also going to make a wedding journal jar with 52 questions so they'll have some memories of how they felt/what they saw etc if that makes sense?
Also want to buy some champagne glasses/mini bottles of cava and some silver party poppers, champagne bubbles and little things like that.
Love the things on Amazon particulary the lanterns so might wait and see if they go down after Valentines day along with anything else in the shops!
Any other ideas would be very much appreciated!I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around0
